These are the kind of roles and traits I plainly find disgusting, and I refuse to follow. Some of them are very popular in our days, and I believe that they should stop.
1. Woman should lose.
The expectation of loss is implied in the expectation of win for a man. If a man loses to a female, then he becomes less manly. For the female, the expectation to win is low or non-existent, which can be equivalent to "expectation of loss".
2. Woman should carry light-weight objects.
This is evident in the number of Craiglist ads that call for "men" who can carry the objects from the apartment or do some heavyweight lifting. Apparently, women are excluded from those gigs.
3. Woman should have long hair.
A woman should have long hair, if she wants to be seen as attractive and feminine. Short hair turns off many guys.
4. Woman should rely on a man to pay for everything
A man is not a piggy bank or ATM machine. He is a human being. A woman should be grateful that she is treated to a dinner or a movie, but that should not be an expectation. Expecting that a man would pay for the date all the time is a burden. No one wants to date a gold digger.
5. Woman should wear dresses and skirts
Dresses and skirts may be beautiful, but expecting women to wear them all the time is pointless, if they had never been taught the ladylike habits to complement the dresses. For example, women who do not sit in a lady-like manner and cross their legs tightly while wearing a dress should not wear dresses, in my opinion. It is not modest.
6. Woman should be responsible for the child-rearing
In addition to working outside the home, women are expected to be responsible for the childrearing. The childrearing responsibility should be equally divided among the two parents, not on the woman's shoulders alone. Fathers should spend as much time with kids as do mothers. Fathers may not be able to breastfeed, but they can feed the kids solid food and take the kids to school and prepare after-school snacks.
7. Woman should wear make-up
Women don't have to wear make-up. Some women are naturally attractive. And some women choose not to wear make-up, because they believe that wearing make-up would make them appear too vain. Therefore, make-up should not be the requirement of femininity.
8. Woman should be allowed to have sex whenever she wants
A common belief among men and women is that women can have sex whenever they want. Just because women can doesn't mean they should. They should be more selective about their sexual partners, because not being selective can screw up the woman's life for good. Women bear most of the reproductive costs (menstruating, maintaining a fetus in the womb, nursing); they deserve to select who would father their children.
9. Woman should have big boobs and big butts to look attractive.
I am not going to search for pornographic images on search engines to explain my point. So, I am just going to grab an ideal image of a woman on Wikipedia to show you that a woman's body should be proportional. Artificially enlarged breasts and obesity-induced butts are not attractive.
10. Woman should rely on a man to take care of her.
I just include a picture of Mary Magdalene, because she is widely believed to be a prostitute who lived in biblical times. Regardless of that validity, a prostitute has never been a prestigious job position. In modern times, some women work as "sugar babies". Sugar babies are essentially the modern equivalent of the "kept woman". A much older man would sponsor the lifestyle of a much younger woman in exchange for sex and intimacy. But a woman's youthful beauty is short and fleeting, so she cannot depend on this work for life.
