I feel it's ridiculous that people don’t understand this and try to make the two genders seem the same, when they aren’t. First it was brought up by feminists and now men are starting to follow suit.

Biologically, we are very different. The hormones that make up the two genders are what make us so different in how we handle situations and what tend to be our strengths and weaknesses.

Women can bear children

To the smart-ass who says, “men can have children”- No, they can’t. That is a test tube baby and is not conceived naturally. Women have maternal instincts and are nurturing so they tend to be better with the children. This tends to be a problem after birth considering women are more likely to take sick days. (This is why it is an inconvenience to the work force when women bear children to all you Trump haters)

Women are more emotional than men

Most of us let our emotions take over with whatever we are doing. This has to do with the much larger amount of estrogen we have in comparison to men. Some women are better at bottling it up than others- but you’re in denial if you say it isn’t true to some extent. Men, on the other hand, have as much as 20x more testosterone which is why they are aggressive, more direct and more focused on sex.

Women think differently than men

Men see individual issues with parts of their brain, while women look at the holistic or multiple issues with their whole brain (both hemispheres). This causes us to take a lot of factors (usually too many) into consideration before we make a decision. We also tend to think in a broader fashion, which makes us think ahead more than men.

Men approach conflict more directly than women

They don’t beat around the bush. Living with my brother and playing competitive sports, I have learned that males are generally not worried about getting their point across without hurting your feelings. They simply say what needs to be addressed, which is very effective in the workplace.

Men get paid more than women

Unfortunately this is very true but it has NOTHING to do with the fact that they are a male. Women tend to choose career paths that don't make as much money. For example, there are more women nurses and more male doctors. The occupations that have a larger salary are generally males and most likely has something to do with the aspects described above as well.

This harms many men who have to live up to this stereotype on a daily basis, and when they don't, they are bullied and labelled as sissies. There is a much bigger difference between the two genders than two different people of the same gender but a different race. Black, white, and Asian men are more similar in their thought processes and biology than women of their own race. So that is not a good comparison.

We deserve equal opportunity but not equal outcomes. If, for example, an NBA athlete (obviously a male) earns more than a WNBA athlete, that is not sexism. That is a result of society choosing to buy more NBA products and tickets than WNBA products and tickets. If a male model earns less than a female model. That is not sexism. About libido and testosterone --
Not really.

Libido is a function of testosterone AND estradiol ("estogen" = estradiol; there are actually a bunch of different estrogens in the human body, of which estradiol is the most prominent).
Moreover... libido is pretty much only affected by SHORTAGES of these things.

Now, here's the deal:

• MEN have a huge abundance of testosterone, and a relative SHORTAGE of estrogen (estradiol).
So... MEN's sex drive is actually much much much MORE SENSITIVE to fluctuations in ESTROGEN. Not testosterone.
In fact, testosterone doesn't much affect men's sex drive at all, until they get way way waaaayyyy down into the hypogonadal range (where their levels are far, far below normal). ***As long as men's testosterone levels are AT LEAST "normal", changes in testosterone don't have much effect at all on their sex drive.***
On the other hand, even small changes in estrogen DO affect men... A LOT.
When men lose their sex drive because of hormone issues, that's much more commonly an issue of low ESTROGEN than of low testosterone.

• WOMEN have a relative abundance of estrogen, and a relative shortage of testosterone.
So -- for basically the same reasons -- when WE have problems with sex drive, it's usually a TESTOSTERONE problem. (As long as we have estrogen levels within the "normal" range, estrogen isn't usually the problem.)

Women choosing lower earning professions (and working less hours in higher earning professions) is what accounts for more than 66% of the "wage gap."

So, the SEXUAL motivations are stacked "against women," and good luck to the person who figures out how to socially engineer the solution to that problem. Especially since women who are "already VERY SEXUALLY ATTRACTIVE TO MEN" have very little motivation to muster up the psychological resources and motivation to be high income earners. Men, on the other hand, who are "already VERY SEXUALLY ATTRACTIVE TO WOMEN" can still tap into those psychological resources, because they know that being a high income earner will only make them "EVEN MORE SEXUALLY ATTRACTIVE TO WOMEN."

You simply cannot compete (as a gender) with those kinds of motivating forces. So, absent a "strict quota" or socialist/communist system, the "free market" will naturally cause women to gravitate towards lower paying jobs (or putting in less hours in jobs that are high paying) .. "on average and in the aggregate."

Its also really hard to get into work now so people just take what they can get to earn a living. I want to get back into warehousing which consists of both genders getting equal pay. I agree that the average man and woman are not equally good in all areas. Particularly in certain areas both genders tend to do better than each other. The definition of feminism is "the advocacy of women's rights on the grounds of political, social, and economic equality to men." On the surface that sounds great. But some people take it to mean different things. From the feminists I have listened to in the US today (not feminists in the Middle East or South-East Asian for example) or what I would refer to as "3rd-wave" feminists think that equality should be artificially enforced not on the basis of skill and production but purely on gender.

So if a woman negotiates her salary worse than a man does or she works less hours or is less talented than a man, 3rd-wave feminists believe that she should still get paid the same. A classic example is the NBA vs the WNBA in terms of salary. Many WNBA athletes have complained they do not get paid as much as their NBA counterparts. But in a capitalistic system, that is because they do not bring in as much revenue as NBA players do on average. Society has chosen to buy less WNBA products and go to less WNBA games than NBA products and games. So that is the result of society and the WNBA should not be forced to pay their players the same as NBA players because WNBA players do not produce as much revenue as their male counterparts. On the flip-side, female models tend to earn a lot more than male models. Male models do not protest that nor should they. Female models get paid more because they generate more revenue than their male counterparts. So I believe in equal opportunity but that does not always result in equal outcomes.

I agree with completely with this post. Childbearing is an inconvenience to employers I agree with that as literally a soon to be mother will have to stop work sometime during the pregnancy and then be off for at least a few months to a year and then depending on how many kids she has that could be 3+ years of work missed. I do think mothers at work should be granted maternity pay and leave for up to a year and if the firm is too small the government should pay it, it's wrong mothers rushing back to work after a few months and dumping a new born in daycare, companies should also be encouraged to rehire if possible former employees who left to start a family and be a stay at home mom until their kids were of school age.
The truth about the paygap is that most men are relentless and greedy in the pursuit of the highest money they can earn and are more likely to work overtime and do careers they hate for the purposes of higher wages were as most women prefer to do what they love or a job in the caring professions, if you think of the minimum education required to be a teacher and compare that with how much a teacher earns its no surprise at how few make school teachers there are.
Women definitely think differently than men and that can be a real advantage when working eith someone who can come up with an idea or solution you'd never think of. Women are an asset as much as any man to an employer though I would say that women are a liability if you have a large group of very young women as that can be a very toxic environment to work in.
Men do take a more direct approach though its not always a good thing and to be honest with HR departments gunning for men direct can get a man fired.

#3 - there were a study with brainscans some time ago (unfortunately can't find the link anymore) where it showed that the male pattern while thinking makes the receptors move back and forth within their brain. Women on the other thand think from left to right and vice versa.

Another reason why women are paid less is because they choose dumb career majors like sociology, history, philosophy, and psychology, they don't go for stem, and liberal arts degrees make no money and are worthless, excluding nursing, you can make good money and can do all the overtime you like, the trades make good money as well as degrees in computer science, business administration or moving up the ladder, if you aren't interested in going to college then do HVAC or become a welder or plumber or even earn your degree in fire science or criminal justice and look for a career as a fire fighter or cop, public service is always looking to diversify their ranks, in my city cops and fire fighter make on average about 80,000 without overtime, and the average salary in my city is 40,000 dollars plus you get retirement with 25 years of service. If you have a degree you can rank up faster.

Just because women and men are different physically and emotionally, does not mean they can't be equal socially. Whenever I go out when I look at both men and women (in a general and non biased format and of course taking away the physical attraction) I see them as equal to me, I do not see them as below me or in any different way as the way I look at men. I think that's the philosophy many people should go by.

Doesn't everyone have the common knowledge that women are different biologically, emotionally and physically? I mean it's pretty obvious. But I don't think women should "know their place", that doesn't exactly scream social equality to me, it kind of screams lets go back to the 1900's where women were highly dominated by men and that they were pretty much belittled as the lower gender.

When I think of equality I think of equal in society, but that's just me.

But let's say if a woman says women and men should both play hockey together on professional teams, well that's laughable because of the biological differences. Or baseball, soccer... etc.

There will never be biological equality of women and I guess psychological equality. I think feminists should stick to social equality.

Men do not get paid more than women, women have better benefits when it comes to days off from work without question, women also get promoted faster to fill quotas and meet goals. Women are also a higher professional liability especially if she doesn't already have a child, if she does have children you might as well only offer her part time since she won't be a good number of shifts for the full time anyway and maternity leave...

They only see that certain parts of the brain flair up on a screen. And they know certain parts of it to know what they do because there were people with brain damage who had some kind of function impairment.

Making farfetched claims like "the blood flow here is different, so their abstract decision making process is different" is exactly the kind of claim that I wouldn't take for granted.

After all, there are male writers who know perfectly well how to verbalize emotions. Are they also unable to "perceive sensory input as well as women"? Or maybe it's a question of exposure and practice?
