Are Christians Allowed To Eat Pork?
Does this rule apply to all Christians or simply certain sects?
"And the pig, because it parts the hoof and is cloven-footed but does not chew the cud, is unclean to you. You shall not eat any of their flesh, and you shall not touch their carcasses; they are unclean to you." (Leviticus 11:7-8)
Some consider eating pork as an abomination to God. After all, He did express His anger on those "Who eat swine's flesh, and the broth of unclean meat is in their pots" (see Isaiah 65:4).
My mom is a Catholic, and loves pork chops. My dad is a Baptiste (Christian) and loves pork roast... his side is very religious Christians and they eat pork. So must be a certain denomination.
I'm agnostic and don't eat meat, dairy products or eggs... family gatherings are always interesting.
Technically no, but Christians violate certain rules because they find it more convenient.
For example, menstruating women are not allowed to prepare food or to sleep next to their husbands for fear they would poison them. That's not something that most Christians practice.
I am a Jehovah's Witness, we eat any kind of meat.. even Pork. We just don't eat for e. g. Black Pudding. We abstain from blood. It was a Mosaic Law, but it was also a Law given to the Christians after Jesus made a New Covenant with them
I've heard it, but never seen it. I eat pork bbq and porkchops often so if it's a sin it's a tasty one. I live in the Southern US in North Carolina one of the most christian states in the US next to Tennessee and both places are crazy over pork bbq, most churches have BBQ dinner fundraisers ironically.
Catholics can't if they go by what is said in the Old Testament.
Leviticus 11:7
"And the pig, though it has a divided hoof, does not chew the cud; it is unclean for you."
but most don't really practice the bible word for word luckily ha lol

Certain sects. Pork isn't kosher and thus is forbidden if following the old law (what Jews and some Christians follow) so for some Christians it is off the menu. I tried eating kosher for a while and still want to, but it can be difficult at times.
Nope... I don't recall ever hearing that. But I don't eat meat at all because I'm vegetarian LOL
Most of christian friends eat pork. But I know some Arab Christians who don't eat it that much. Maybe he's an Arab christian perhaps?
He's African.

it was forbidden in the old covenant
but like someone said, it was allowed under the new covenant
Its against muslim religion
I've never heard of it being against Christian region and inn Christian so yea
i never heard of Christians being forbidden to consume pork. maybe i missed that though.
You used to not be able to eat pork because in the book of Leviticus it says you must abide by the laws of spiritual cleanliness like not eating pork and not wearing shirts of mixed fibers. That was because Jesus Haden's sacrificed himself yet. But now that he has, there is no longer a need to abide by the laws of cleanliness anymore.
Yes they can. Alooot do like anyone else.
I don't eat pork ever because its not healthy and I don't care for how the pigs eat.
depends on how closely you follow the faith and what your particular group of christians believe
I never heard that before. I think it's ok. But I don't eat pork or any meat because I'm a vegetarian.
7th Day Adventists can't but besides them I'm sure they can. I did hear that in the Bible it says to not eat the swine. But Christians love pork so I'm confused.
If I were Christian I'd still eat pork
If I were Jewish I'd still eat pork
If I were a pig I'd still eat pork
Because countless Christians follow the old and new testament thats why your friend doesn't eat pork
Yes they are
And thank God we're allowed to, because it's delicious!
I'm christian, and I eat pork...
