I know this question is for guys but I've known a lot of guys and lived with 4 of them at one point so I learned a lot about the inner workings from them. It really depends on the guy and the topic. Some men are men of few words and don't have much to reply. yet this goes double if its a topic that they're not interested in. Usually if it's something the guy wants to talk about they'll say more, but if you're getting one words sometimes that's a hint of boredom. Also it would help to give an example conversation/reply. Some guys like girls that talk a lot others don't. you really should just try talking to him, I know real phone calls are rare these days but you can learn so much more by the tone of voice then text messageing
When I text, I usually say everything I have to say and nothing more.
It might be a long paragraph, or it might be a sentence or two.
It depends on the subject mostly.
But I personally don't think its unattractive.
If you think about it this much, then maybe you should change just for your own perspective.

I guess, I'm a girl?
I'm always the one texting way more... maybe not often, but when I text, it's like 1 page lol
But I always ask, if that's ok and usually it is, maybe, I just got nothing to do and too much time on my hands compared to others haha
I have a girlfriend, we converse on text messages, she send me long text messages, and I love when she write me too much, I never get fed up due to her long text messages,
