My 5 Tips for Traveling on a Budget

1. Book in a youth hostel instead of a hotel.

Youth hostels are amazing, you share a dorm with a bunch of other young travelers, you save a lot of money as they are much cheaper than hotels, and they offer the same services (wifi, food, some have swimming pools etc...)

2. Eat local food

If you are a food lover and you want to eat on a budget, this will give you a taste of the local culture, and will be so much cheaper than international dishes you will get in restaurants.

3. Compare all the available transportation options.

There are several apps and websites for this. When Travelling in a country, see all the ways you can get to your destination, train, bus, plane, and compare the prices and durations. Consider even renting a car where it is cheap.

4. Buy a daily/weekly/monthly public pass

Many places have them. A little card can give you illimited access to public transportation, and big discounts on museums and public attractions etc.. if you are a student, a pass is likely to cost much less.

5. Consider meeting a local

no one can give you better advice while traveling to a specific country than a local who probably knows the best tips and hacks of staying in that country.
