How do girls like to be hit on?

I like when guys are up front. Good topics to stay away from are anything really personal. Asking where we live is kind of creepy. Small compliments are nice, like saying she looks cute. Over complimenting seems, again, creepy. Try to avoid saying things like, "I had my eye on you." Best conversation topics are to talk about what's going on. Hell, even talking about the weather is a good enough opener. Also, talking about yourself keeps things from being too uncomfortable. By no means let the conversation be completely about you, but don't let it become an interview, y'know? And if she says she has to go, don't be persistant to get her to stay. Just say it was nice to meet her and if you haven't already ask for her number or email or whatever then ask then. I know it seems overwelming, but just be yourself and friendly and open.

I guess you could say I've been "hit" from many directions. Today I had a guy start a conversation with me by saying, "That was a weird look" I told him it's just how my face looks. Little odd but started a conversation none the less. Mostly I have guys comment on my hair and if it is naturally red. I prefer a conversation starter to be a natural thing and not some line. I know when I make a move to start a conversation with a guy I don't know I usually comment on something I like about him physically. I will tell him that I like his shirt or that he smells good. I love a man with tattoos so they can be an easy start. I work with the public so I have to ask people what they are looking for and that can be a big help. I would just say keep it genuine and only cheesy if you feel it will make her laugh.
