If guy mentions other girls, he doesn't like me right?

So I talk to this guy I like from class. He's a nice guy. We get along great. He has always been quite talkative with me. And even mentions certain things that he like in girls like confident and not slutty. He mentions certain things he'd like if he had a girlfriend.

I was starting to think he might like me more than a friend but lately he's been mentioning girls. Like he might tell a story and mention his friend that's a girl. Or he'll tell a story and say oh anf it happens to be girls. And last time he was saying it would be nice to go to this place. I asked why, he said eye candy. And I'm like oh OK. And he's like, for girls too.

But I try to see if he checks out other girls when he's with me. He doesn't. Well, I'm sure he does but he doesn't make it obvious. I've seen that if a girl smiles at him, he'll smile at them, and quickly look down and keep talking to me. He talks to a lot of girls, as well as guys. he's just very friendly. When we talk, he'll look me in the eyes, or at the floor. Never at my boobs or anything. Not even when he's sitting and I'm standing near him. He just looks down and smiles. He's not a perve.

Sometimes I think he does this to see if I get jealous but I'm not sure. He's never been in a relationship and he's kind of nerdy. he's very respectful, kind, and chivalrous. he's inexperienced like I am so I don't know if that's why he does it or he's really trying to give me a hint that he's not Interested?

Its hard to say in this situation.I think it is possible he may be saying all of those things to try and sort out if you have any feelings for him,OR...it may be because he feels like you are..."just a friend."There is a guy I know at the moment,that flirts with me...yet one day he just "randomly"mentions something about some girl that's stressing him.I don't even bother to inquire further.And yet,once I stopped giving his advances any attention,there he is BACK to flirting...but kicking it up about 5 solid notches.Its possible that maybe this girl did or does exist,but if he isn't interested...his behavior definitely says something different.SO...this guy you speak of,its possible that maybe he is or isn't interested.I would mention something about a guy and see how reacts THEN.

Another side story,I went through a similiar situation to yours a long while ago.There was a guy I was EXTREMELY interested in...but I wasn't sure how he felt about me.Anyway,I think he would purposely talk about another girl,look at other girls in my presence etc.THEN...I was finally tired of dealing with that,so I sort of started just giving my attention to other guys in front of HIM.I wasn't game playing,but I WAS tired of his game playing and us not being on the same page about "feelings",so I figured...why waste time waiting for this person.Anyway,after seeing that I was over it,he did EVERYTHING in his ability to get my attention...EVERYTHING.He would stop me mid conversation while I was talking to another guy JUST to show me all sorts of nonsense.I would literally have to tell him,"Not now...do you not see I'm talking to him?" He would just back off and try again later.But before,he had no fire under his pants to do anything.

In the end,we never seemed to get on the same page because of all of the stupid game playing...and I wasn't into it.But lesson learned,I don't stand around liking someone while they talk about other girls in front of me and I really don't care if its..."just to make me jealous."But your friend is inexperienced so...go figure.I would just casually bring up a guy...JUST to see if he is interested or not in the most subtle of ways...just to get a green light.If he gets bent out of shape about it,then he is probably interested in you.This is all just my humble opinion of course.

If he's mentioning specific girls he finds attractive or likes, he's not interested.

In this case, it sounds like he's just trying to relate to you in order to strike up a connection. I think you should keep seeing him! Mentioning "eye candy" is a good way for him to seem like he's not "too nice." Guys usually try to make the conversation PG-13 sometimes to try to display their sexuality (not in always in a pervy way, but as a way to create some tension and attraction)

He likes you.

- He's trying to gauge your interest based on your reaction to how he talks about girls.

- He's also trying to learn about you by talking about them, because he feels he can't talk about you, since you aren't dating.

- He probably has no clue that you are interested in him.

- He started wanting to go on walks? He likes you.

- With just you? He likes you.

- Asking about you and your family? He likes you!

Of course, he's shy and scared that you don't like him back, especially if you've been friends for a long while. He's scared of losing your friendship. That's why he's trying to be near you and talk to you without saying he likes you.

Don't ask him out. But do say something casually in conversation like, "You know, ..., I really like spending time with you." Drop lots of **very* obvious* hints such that anyone he tells when asking for advice will have no doubt of your feelings. And hopefully it will click with him.

He's not doing it specifically to make you jealous but a lot of men do this to make them more attractive to women in general (and it's obviously working since you can't stop thinking about him).

It could be a bunch of different things. You need to provide more information but I don't think you can because you both seem too shy. He could be gay, he could be using you to make it look like he's a catch to other girls around school (which is genius), or he could really like you. When you said he's shy though, it sounds like he likes you. Guys who would use you wouldn't be shy most likely, or maybe they would, you never know. Bottom line, you have to ask him if he likes you. It all depends on his answer and his reaction to you. If he really genuinely likes you then he'll most likely say so. Otherwise you should find a guy who is more aggressive and confident because you will most likely get bored with Mr. nice guy and go out and mess around with a cocky a**hole. Unless you're one of those special girls who only loves one guy, then yeah go for this shy guy. Good luck.

The way you know if he is interested is if he treats you differently than everyone else. But shy people are very good at hiding their feelings which keeps them safe but also keeps them alone.

If he treats you better there is a decent chance he likes you, young guys don't talk to girls they aren't attracted to, It is just the truth. Unattractive girls don't get talked to much. It is just the way the world is.

If he treats you better or oddly different then he probably likes you. He may like you even if he doesn't show it. Then you have to make a move.

He does like you that's for sure. The reason he looks down at the floor is because he is shy and why would any body be shy when they don't like the person in front of him. He could be talking about other girls to avoid awkward silence, to get an reaction from you to test your feelings or he could try to tell you that he is interested in you in a weird way. My advice just to make sure next time he describes his perfect girl look into his eyes and if he could stare into yours without looking at other girls and it sounds like you he is describing you well then you do know for sure. Oh and because he is very shy, the chances are that he won't make a move so ask him randomly if he likes you, but don't ask him out simply tell him how you feel and ask him what he is going to do about it.
