What does it mean when a guy says let's take it slow?

I have been talking to this guy for over a month...nearly two months now...every day! I never made the first move with texts, kisses, calls anything. So he tells me from the get go he just wants to take it slow and really get to know me, but never talks about what he wants in the future. We have the same interests, great sex, get along great, laugh, joke, cut up. I never complain about driving an hour to see him or his crazy work schedule (he is a cop) So I feel like I am giving him what he wants, but still he doesn't act like he is happy getting to know me. We got in an argument about it almost 2 weeks ago and I basically told him I was done, well now we talk again and hooked up again, but we don't talk everyday like we use to. I told him I would be patient and he said lets just see where this goes...us being friends. well we hooked up last night and had a great time for hours before we did any thing and he even got upset that I was ready to leave right after we had sex...but I still had an hour drive home and it was late...turns out today he is on a dating website saying that he just wants a girl who truly wants to be with him...wtf? He has somebody that truly wants to be with him! What do I say to him since we aren't dating and he does want to take it slow? I feel like I am being pulled on a string and him wanting me to be patient is just his way of keeping me where he wants me. I need a guys perspective on this...

Well, when I say 'let's take it slow', it means let's get to know each other better before jumping into bed.

Sounds like when he says it, it means let's jump into bed before we really get to know each other better.

ok, so do I mention it to him since he did say he wanted to take it slow? I don't wanna make myself look like an idiot, but I feel like I should not let this guy walk all over me either. I like him a lot, but this is annoying. I don't play games so I feel like just never talking to him or waiting for him to say something first is just a bunch of bs...i like to say what I feel and get over it...but I hate fking it up with him. Is this just one of those, he is just not that into you...kinda things

Nope! lol We quit talking for a few days, I went out of town and when I came back he said he was dating someone. So we quit talking and then two or three months later he started calling and texting me again. It's been since about Christmas since I have heard from him.
