Is it bad that i'm dating someone new but still stalk my ex on social media?

or actually still think about my ex every single day..

we talked three days ago after two months of no contact. i meet someone new during those two months (we're broken up last year but had an on and off contact). i messaged him to clear the air and he basically found out there's someone new. he said its a good thing i he knows because it became a sign for him that we're officially over. i was the one who left him but i never lost feelings for him. our texts became a call that lasted about two hours. i ended up crying. i told the new guy im dating that i talked with my ex but all he knows is that i did it to clear the air. my ex and i talked about a lot of stuff and one of those is saying the right thing to do is not talk anymore at all. which was right. i like the new guy im dating but thats just it, its new, so the feelings of course is not as real as i have for my ex.

Yeah, that's really unfair to the new guy you're dating. You obviously still have feelings for your ex if you're obsessed enough to stalk him on social media.

If you really want to move on, you need to delete all traces of him from social media, stop talking to him, and focus your attention on your current boyfriend! Otherwise, you need to let him go; it's not fair to him that you're still talking to your ex.

I believe you have to do what's necessary to allow you to move on. Many times that means just getting a certain amount of closure or maybe just a couple unanswered questions answered. Like for me I contacted my ex like 4 months later and she responded with Who is this? So there ya go. Explains why she never responded. She broke up with me and immediately deleted me or blocked me then didn't recognize the number months later when I texted randomly. Would have been nice to know what went wrong. I still don't know, but at least now she read my message and has my number again. I moved on though and don't think about her too much anymore.

@red324 Dating other people almost never works because your emotional circuitry is all messed up with feelings for someone else. That is my only point when advising others. Other then that yeah do what you got to do.

I don't believe you can get over love if it was genuine. Furthermore, love is a force all its own neither good or bad. Sounds to me personally like you just called this guy up to get acceptance/ permission and to hurt his feelings in an attempt to rid yourself of your feelings for him. Not gonna work lady. Try not to have very many "boyfriends". What eventually happens to many who cannot handle all those connections is they become numb and sociopathic in the same way some people use drugs to alleviate boredom. FYI

Well... think about it this way - how would you feel if somebody did this to you? Would it upset you? If yes, then you know it's not good what you're doing and you should maybe give yourself more time before you start seeing another person.

Sounds like you are not ready for a new relationship and I think it is only fair that you let the guy you date know this. Then he can decide if he wants to be a rebound, and/or maybe fight to help you get over your ex or date someone else.
