Guys, What should I do?

Long story, so here me out. My boyfriend had originally told me he wanted nothing to do with me and was going to block me. So.. I packed my stuff and left. But he still hasn’t blocked me, and says that he doesn’t know if this is just a break or not. He said I should take a step back for a little while? He says that he needs space and this is very hard for him to deal with; but him not responding to me is making me lose my mind. His parents say that he refuses to talk about it and they don’t even know what’s going on. He won’t tell me if it’s officially over or not. He’s not the type of person to sugarcoat anything. I just wish I knew what he was thinking. A family member of mine had said “he told me that he doesn’t want you contacting him anymore”. This family member doesn’t want us together and refuses to show me this message he supposedly sent. I’m just very confused and all over the place. I feel if he really wanted nothing to do with me, he would’ve ended everything and communication once I moved out. It’s been almost a week. Should I just give up already?

He ended up responding to me and he’s talking to me now. Not much, but still. He says that being apart isn’t easy for him but we both need the space. But he says “take a few months and ease into things”. He proceeded to tell me that he doesn’t want us finding other people, which was reassuring. I definitely believe I was the main cause in this entire mess. I was a little controlling and had a lot of trust issues. But months? Can’t it be resolved sooner than that?

I am assuming you messed up somewhere and didn't disclose that and that he is not acting crazy without reason.

It is likely ending but might not. The polite thing to do is to take a step back and only reach out intermittently. It is typically a good idea to let said person in on you doing this and why. It is also often a good idea to ask if you can reach out again at X date. This helps show both some care for the other person, while maintaining your interest and active involvement.

So that is what I would suggest. Tell them you understand that they need time. Insert short but clear comment about where you stand. Ask if you can contact them at X or Y. Even if they do not respond at X or Y, as long as the message is received you just renew the suggested date to give them more time.

Give him some space and let him cool down. There are no guarantees, but if his parents don’t know, he might not either
