Guilt by association is real, whether it is something we put on ourselves or others choose to put it there. There's nothing wrong with not wishing to be associated with anything related to your past trauma. So, even if you have no romantic feelings toward that person, you'll still want to keep your distance. You don't need that constant reminder, and you don't need others mentioning associations that return you to yoiur trauma.
You may find it helpful to seek out a therapist who specializes in trauma, to weaken the hold this trauma has on you.
