So I broke up with my ex 8 months ago because I felt neglected in the relationship. I miss him terribly now and he was my best friend. He says that we can be friends one day but not this soon. But I am unsure if would be fair to either one of us to just be friends one day. We were together for 6 years and I feel there is too much history there. I would be willing to give our relationship a chance if I could see that we both are willing to put in the effort.

What are his intentions with wanting to be friends one day but not now?

He is just saying that one day y'all will be able to see eachother without it being weird, he's not saying he's going to try to get back together with you.

My ex did that to me. Worst days of my life. I should’ve left the first time. But, I didn’t. He only did that so he could still have access to me as if we was together.
