She basically said that the most common type of profession among women that she has had to deal with in past divorce cases is that of stay at home mothers. Her hypothesis for this has to do with both spouses feeling underappreciated and neglected. A woman will focus on the children and the husband will focus on his career to provide for the family. Eventually the husband feels like an ATM machine and the wife feels she is being neglected emotionally because the husband spends a large amount of his time at work.

For anyone who watched the sopranos this scenario actually was one of the reasons that Tony and his wife divorced. She couldn't stand his neglect of her emotionally, as well as his rampant acts of infidelity and he often felt like an ATM machine in the house.

No, you should avoid those you are incompatible with. I would suggest that those who are the least willing to adapt are those with the least room for compatibility, though, but that doesn't make it insurmountible.

I'm not quite sure that's what she said. It sounded to me like she said the greatest NUMBER of cases she's seen have involved stay at home moms. Well, that's not surprising if a large number of married women are stay at home. It's also not surprising given those cases need to be VERY contested as the money flow at stake will be MUCH greater.
