How long did it take you to get over your break up and how long were you together?

My ex fiance and I broke up 8 months ago, there are no feelings of resentment between us anymore but it hurts so much. We aren't really in contact at all... we were together for 6 years and engaged for a year, owned a home together for 4 years. Every day it feels like it hurts more.

Three years. I held onto to false hope. I thought he missed me and we'd get back together one day. I only finally moved on when one day I typed his name on FB (dont know why I did , because he was never on any social media when I was with him) and he was in a happy relationship. I saw messages between them both. He said she was the love of his life and he'd only ever loved her. It ripped my heart out. I can't describe the pain I felt. He'd gotten with her about a year after we split up. Knowing he never loved me, and that he loved someone else finally allowed me to let go and move on

Aww I'm so sorry, there is no pain felt like heartache but I hope that you can find peace in knowing you did your best with how you felt at that time and you deserve someone who loves every part of you

We were together for almost 6 years, lived together for 1-2 years and we were friends since we were in high school. Took me about 3 months to start feeling better but it took me almost 2 years to finally get over him…

I didn’t get over it until I made myself Risk again…. Meetup groups helped with that Time filling too.

We’ve been together a year. Broke up 3 months ago. I wouldn’t say I’m fully healed and moved on but I was definitely feeling like moving in from my ex isn’t going to take so long.
