How can I get her to want to be with me again?

I’m trying to make things right with my ex girlfriend who is also carrying my child. I didn’t do right by her. She left me when she was five months pregnant because I did something dumb and got physically violent with her. She hadn’t been responding to any texts or calls since she left but now she is but only with Information about our child. Which is understandable but I would like to try again with her. I ask her about how well she slept through the night, how her day has been going, has she ate but all her responses are involving the baby and how he should be here in four weeks (it’s a boy) and she has sent me the baby registry. It’s like now she just only wants to be bothered with me for our son but I was hoping we could make it work as a family.

I think it's about really developing as a person. If you become a better man and genuinely acknowledge your mistakes and try to do right from now on, maybe there is hope. Kind of like when prisoners reform.

And I get that part, I really do want to change. I mean if she’s going as far as keeping me updated on our sons health while he’s still in the womb that could mean something right? Or maybe it just means she wants me involved in our sons life but not involved with her

I guess it's about earning back her trust and also her seeing you as someone who can be a good partner to her, protect her, be kind to her, have fun with her, communicate well with her.
