What would you do if your first TRUE LOVE contacted you randomly?

Not necessarily your first relationship (can be), but the first one where you were madly in love and losing it changed who you are forever.

Let's say you were blindsided by the breakup. You tried for YEARS to get answers and needed therapy to help get over it and finally accepted that there is no hope for going back. You think you moved on but then he/she randomly contacts you (after 10 years) and asks if you want to try again. All of the feelings and memories (good and bad) you ever had for them returns.

Do you take the person back? Do you tell them to fuck off? Do you agree to at least meet with them and risk a relapse of the bad habit you developed to get them out of your head for the chance at answers? What would YOU do in such a scenario?

my first true love was my first girlfriend from high-school... and today we're best friends, so this is literally the norm, lol... she just contacts me randomly, most of the times but it is just random on the timing, not in intention because we just contact each other from time to time just like any other friends do

now, if you my first crush in elementary and whom I have not seen in way over a decade, nor kept in touch with her... I think my mind would just explode a million times in a row, lol but I just realized you asked a question based on your scenario so let me go and check that...

Under the circumstances and context of your scenario, I do happen to be an absolute psychological mess so, that makes me incredibly vulnerable, 10 years go by and you say that I still went back to the same feelings and emotions from the time was just wrecked so... it seems to me that I am in fact, still a vulnerable mess

so now, there's two questions for me, do I risk and become susceptible to falling again for the bad habits triggered by going back to her and possible her ways happening again... or, do I avoid her but still get all kinds of anxious with uncertainty and forever wondering of what exactly is it that she wants or could happen if we met

what would I do? both seem incredibly negative but I do think that at least, with the first scenario and risking to meet her, there's a chance that THIS TIME, things could end up well, or at least a bit better, and not so bad

no risk, no gain... let's go FUBAR!!! one way or another
