Fuck no. Why did he break up w you? I can almost guarantee he left because there was another girl. He may have gave you some lame excuse, but honestly more than likely he was plowing some other bush. After he was done w her he left. Maybe she rejected him, either way he’s back because he’s trying to bang you. Maybe he realized he made a mistake, but either way you weren’t first, you were a second or even a third option. Take him back, see what happens. When women do this it just reinforces men knowing that we can do shit like this. To treat you like garbage knowing you’ll still come back. Have some respect for yourself. Move on.
Please say what's on your mind. If you want to hang out, tell him. I understand that he's the one who broke up, and you may feel he should be the one to make amends. But life is too short to wait around for someone else. If it's what you want, go for it. If it's not what he wants, then at least you tried - that's a lot better than not trying and always wondering the rest of your life.
Evaluate why you two broke up in the first place and figure out exactly if this is something worth reinvesting your time into. Exes will always come back (they all have for me) the ones that did were not investing more time into due to break up reasoning. You don’t always have to go back to someone just because they add you on things
having a serious relationship with an ex has never worked out for me. I'll admit we've used each other for ole' times sake... but that's because of being comfortable with each other. Otherwise, relationally... all the same problems were still there.

He may just be back for validation, dopamine because he knows you still like him. I would not ask him to do anything and even back off chatting with the guy. You having options has to be clear and that means your energy goes to the man who pursues not the other way around.
You should make him pursue you. Otherwise, you look like a desperate woman unable to find another etc…
