My boyfriend is not the type to fall in love easily but his first love was his ex from a few years ago. His ex is middle eastern and he is european. When I first met him, he showed some emotions about how hard and long it took him to get over his ex. I told him there and then that it seemed like he wasn't over his ex and that it was OK, he just needed to be honest about it - but he assured me that he was over her - just that the aftermath hurt a lot and that was what he didn't want to experience again. After a few months of us getting closer, I asked him about it again and from the way he responded, which was different this time, calmly and indifferently, that he no longer "gives a shit" - and I believe him. Recently, we started following each other on tiktok and I noticed that he follows a lot of middle eastern girls that do traveling content in Europe. The most recent account he followed is another girl just like that. Is this a sign that he's still not over her?
Guys, Why would a guy follow girls that resemble/same race as his ex?

Isn't it a bad sign that his ex became his preferred race/type still to this day, though? He wasn't into middle eastern girls before her from what I know.
