Why did he follow me on instagram after rejecting me?

A guy who used to have a crush on me 2 years ago matched with me on tinder. After initiating a conversation with him he rejected me and I deleted the match. Two days later he send me a following request on instagram. Why did he do this and why is he not attracted to me anymore? I still see him following random girls on instagram who resemble me a lot.
