Back in 2022, I (F24) was in a long term relationship (2,5 years of living together + 2,5 years of being best friends). In the summer of 2021, I met up with his (M24) family and it did not go well at all and gave him thoughts to take a break but we remained together.
All of a sudden and with no foreseen signs, my ex decided to break up with me mid-March. It appears that a friend of his (who they just became friends in October of that year) has told him that he would not find a job due to my nationality. I tried reasoning with him and we continued. Later I figured that he was not telling the girls who were texting him and showing interest that he is in a relationship and was potentially catching feelings for a classmate of his. This is when sometimes I was not sleeping at all due to writing his assignments for him in the bathroom making sure that light does not bother him.
Mid-May (2022), when he did another intolerable thing, I did not answer his text for a day (because I was going through a lot), my neighbour has had committed suicide, our best friend was sexually abused by his roommate, I had the deadline for my 25000 words thesis and was keeping up with 5 full-time internships all around the globe and he did not write to me for 3 weeks until I showed up to his place to collect some dresses. He took his keys from me on that night and I lied that I have been dating someone in the past 2 weeks.
In October 2022, I called him and we talked. His stands were still the same.
He has now found a good job in the government as he wanted and seems to be happy with life as he got everything he once dreamed of.
I then tried calling him a month later but he did not reply. Texted him for the new year (2023) and got nothing. When I bump into him in mutual friends houses or in the street, he looks at me with a frown on his forehead and takes his look from me as if I am a disgusting thing to look at.
