Do you still buy an ex a birthday gift?

Every year, I still buy a birthday gift for my ex and he still buy a birthday gift for me. Nothing expensive from my end, maybe a shirt or tie. He usually buys me dresses, jewelries, lingeries, and plane tickets for vacation. One time my ex got me a new iPhone and I just told my husband that I won it from work.

Depends on my relationship with the ex. If we are friends I would. But I broke contact with most of them so I don't see a reason to buy them gifts. I most of the time don't even remember their birthday.

I used to (he has since passed away in an accident). We broke up amicably. We were friends long long before we dated, and we were still friends after the break-up with neither wanting to get back together. If he had been hurtful or abusive or awful to me, there is no way I would ever. I didn't stop being a friend or a decent person just because we broke up and neither did he.

To me that shows he's not over you. Is it a good idea? Not particularly. If you have to hide that your ex gets you gifts from your husband then that should be a good indicator of if its appropriate or not.
