What does he mean when he says, "goodnight pretty lady" vs "goodnight beautiful"? He switches it up every now and then?

Is he just trying to keep it fresh or is there a different feeling/meaning behind it? I'm 24 so "pretty lady" sounds like something you'd call your mom or the neighbor. I like it either way cuz I like him, but just wondering.

How do guys like girls to respond? Goodnight handsome or just goodnight? Maybe "sweet dreams"?
