What does it mean when a guy says he misses your face?

I've been friends with a guy for about 6 months. We've gotten pretty close and talk or text almost everyday, but he has a girlfriend, so it's mostly platonic. He'll occasionally snuggle with me, but it's not often. He's on vacation this week, so I haven't seen him since Saturday. He has asked if I miss him twice and when he was saying goodnight said he misses my face. He knows I won't help him cheat and that we are wildly incompatible even though we have a great chemistry, so I don't really know how to take this.

Appreciate it guys. I know his girlfriend and have hung out with her some. He is in awkward situation because she moved to be with him but it's not going well. Ya'll are totally right though about putting some distance between us.

Why are you incompatible if you have a great chemistry and you are pretty close? He shouldn't be like that. It is like a double relationship. How would you feel if he was with you, yet seeing someone else at the same time. Does his girlfriend "know" that you both are "incompatible"?

Sometimes, if he mentions your face, it is because your face represents you. By saying he misses your face, he is saying he misses you. The other interpretation could be that he actually misses "your face", as in your physical face.

Is he in the right relationship? Does he actually like you instead of his current girlfriend, and for some unknown reason, can't be together with you? Maybe you are the right person for him, but it is hard to tell all this just from reading your short question and description. It usually is more complicated than that.

He's just quoting RomCom's. The usual use for this phrase in movies is that he likes himself better in your company -- that's a good thing.

That said: you are cheating -- emotionally. Would you want your boyfriend telling another girl that he misses her face (much less snuggling)? He is getting intimacy and validation from you instead of his girlfriend. Make a change or it's only a matter of time before you do cheat with him or his girlfriend gets in the middle of it. You should take it as a warning sign.

I'm trying to think of a better way to say it and come off well. So far, the only other quotes I know of are bad ones. The one in particular would be, "I miss your cleavage." Just won't do

Simply distance yourself from him, and just treat him as a close friend. You don't want to be getting hurt at the end.
