You'll have to learn soon. You'll have to learn basic self defense techniques and just to keep confidence. Girls like confident guys more than fist fighting guys. Try keeping away from bullies and if any bully come to grab your love try to settle the situation with words. You'll have to develop confidence because it helps to develop some manly feelings. Confidence in yourself will provide you a strange strength to deal with any rascal.
You're correct! If you've got a girlfriend, you must know to protect her. Try learning some basic self defense techniques too. It's very very great if you can engage in a martial art. Just watch videos of how people defend on "Youtube", you'll find zillions :D
And, please don't try dangerous techniques they use.

It's a thing you totally shouldn't worry about. How many times in your life do you get into fist-fights? In our time and age, it is not necessary to be strong and literally fight.
IF the rare occasion does come up, avoiding the conflict and getting help is always the best thing to do, so nobody gets harmed. There's really no reason to put yourself in danger. So just ignore the guys talking shit, and move on with your life. I highly doubt that your girlfriend would want you to put yourself in danger.
(But if it absolutely comes down to it, I think that standing up for her and maybe taking a beating is the manliest thing to do if you really care about that)
I can't imagine ever being in a situation where my boyfriend would actually have to physically fight someone to protect me. Should be enough to tell them to fuck off and if not, threaten to call the police and leave with your girl.

Handle what you can, as best you can. It's all you can do.
For what it's worth, I learned to fight with my fists in my 30's for fun.
But I managed to make it through life without needing to do so.
Find a dojo that teaches traditional karate (not US sport karate); become a dedicated student for life; train hard and often.
You will become equipped to handle almost any situation.
A competent karate-ka will end a fight the first time that he strikes his opponent.
We also train to engage multiple assailants.
yes just start doing pushups every day bro, as many as you can, full pushups though don't do it half assed. I started that when I was 14 then once just do ten every 20 minutes then when you get good at that bump it up to 20 just keep going then u can get weights so at that point you won't have to fight and If you do then just learn some moves off of YouTube and if you still get knocked out tell her it was worth it.
You don't need to be all macho to protect your girlfriend. I'm sure she will appreciate it more if you run away with her instead of getting all beat up. It's better to be safe than sorry.

There's no reason for you to be fighting. We have police to deal with issues like that.
Hunt around for martial arts classes you can afford. Try YMCAs and other groups.
Beating up someone is easy but avoiding the fight is easier, just make sure you don't take shit from no one.
