What does it mean when a guy pours his heart out to you?

I've been seeing a guy recently, and I was so surprised about how much I liked him in a short amount of time. He doesn't live where I live, he just was in my country for an internship. Anyway, yesterday he told me about how he felt about me, how I swept him off his feet, and he didn't expect it at all, and how he's never experienced someone like me, and how he regrets meeting me cause that means he won't be able to stop thinking about me when he leaves. He keeps asking me so what do you want to do, and then tells me about how he tried long distance with someone before and she left him for another guy. He suggested that we blocked each other, and just try to forget about everything and eventually we will meet other people. Afterwards he said I don't think I can do that, I still want you in my life. What did he confess all his feelings if he doesn't want anything? What does it mean when he tells me how he feels?

He wants to be able to have you, but since he is going back to his country his trying to find ways to cut you out of his life. Not because he wants to, it's because it'll hurt him less and make that transaction easier for him (even by then that won't work).
