Guys, should I ask him for a second date?

I met up with this guy last week and had a great time. We are still talking which is a good sign. He asked to meet up first. I like him a lot and want to see him again but he hasn't suggested about meeting up again. I've asked him what his plans are for the weekend and he said he doesn't have plans. Should I ask if he wants to meet up again? I'm just scared of being rejected and don't want to sound too keen, but I want him to know I am interested. The worst he can say is no so I don't think I have anything to lose. Maybe he is waiting for me to ask? I don't want to wait around for ages for him to ask and then nothing happens.

Gah women are so annoying. He asked first and put himself out there so now it's your turn to take a risk. It's like women expect men to be the only ones who get nervous. That's how proper dating is done. One person plans a date than the other person plans the next. I don't keep talking to women who never ask for more especially if I've taken her out twice. You should be in the clear to ask him out on another date. If he's the shy/awkward type, then it's possible he thinks you didn't have a good time and that you're only talking to him to save him pain.
