Advice for NBSB?

This guy superliked me on tinder and I messaged him first. We talked for a bit then I wasn't able to reply until the next day when I found out he added me on Facebook and sent me a message. We chat. He seems to be interested. He's a med student right now. I see him as a good prospect but I still have yet to get to know him better. I haven't met him in person. We just chat. The thing is, I've never had a boyfriend since birth. I'm like Sheldon from The Big Bang in the sense that he doesn't understand the need for relationships since he's sufficient on his own and is quite independent. And that's how I am, but I do find myself desiring to have a partner sometimes. I just need tips for my case: NBSB. Thanks.

It's normal for NBSBs to feel independent. Like you can live a life without a man by your side. I was NBSB for 21 years until this guy showed his interest. I realized that I'm starting to like him, and we've dated for a year. Then he started to lie low on the whole dating. There was no progress. I was looking for progress. Until my friend noticed my messages to him, she said I always put him on friendzone and rarely show that I like him. I decided to be a bit bold and it worked!

My grandmother grew single, and I witnessed how life was for her. It felt lonely without someone by her side. That's how my perception changed on the whole "I can survive on my own."

I'm also in the exact same situation as you but I'm starting only. Funny is I also tend to message in a friendzone way but i'm not sure even how that looks like. I'm actually a little doubtful about being bold because we've only chatted for 3-5 days. If I'd have to rate this guy from the other guys I've politely declined, he suits my standards better than them so it's safe to say for now that I see trying to work a thing with him. So... that makes me more scared of maybe scaring him away. Also, I laughed (by chat) when he told me he liked What makes you beautiful by 1D because guys don't usually like 1d (i'm not making fun of 1d, just saying from observation). And he seenzoned it. And didn't reply for 2-3 hours. Was I rude or what? i honestly am a question mark right now

I was scared on scaring him away, too. So I was careful with my words. I was NBSB for so long and I don't know much about guys, but the guy who showed interest in me literally showed interest to what I (or women these days) am interested in. He'd mention chick flicks that I like that I never thought he'd have interest in because he was a guy. Now I've known him enough to realize he doesn't actually fancy those stuff! I thought that maybe it's his way of getting my attention, and it worked lol.

I don't think that was rude? I'd laugh on my initial reaction, too. Did he reply after 2-3 hours? If he did, just act normal again. He probably moved on when he felt embarrassed or something. The guy I'm dating would sometimes get annoyed at me, he'll calm down and not talk for minutes, sometimes hours, and then he'll talk to me again, he'll start up a joke to make things light. And I'll act normal and leave what happened behind.

I've had a hard time decoding guys, tbh.

I think you ahould see how thinga go with guy. Take it slowly and dont be too cold or distant. Give him a chance as you dont know he may very well be the one you end up with. Just suggest something like meeting up with him when you bith have time so then you can see if there is a potential in him. Good luck
