Modern society? Well, ghosting is nothing new. This is something which always existed except we now have a name for it and treat it as a new phenomenon.
I have done that a few times, but only if I was scared for my safety, or if I made it abundantly clear that I wasn’t interested in the person and they still wouldn’t leave me alone. Or both.
About the ghosters: We live in a snowflake society where people are afraid of confrontation and try to "solve" an issue by ignoring it. Unfortunately that may build up and bite you in the a$$ one day.
Good question, I feel like the prevalence of ghosting shows cowardice and a lack of respect for others in our society. It says the person who is ghosting lacks courage and integrity and the person who got ghosted may not be perceptive
The person that ghosts is usually someone who has a lack of respect for the person that was trying to message them. If it happens they probably aren't worth your time

Thanks for your opinion. Does this say something about society? Because it happens more and more often.
In general society is going down hill all the respectful behaviour of the older time is going, the lack of manners and respect towards other people is affecting most in thinking only they have feelings that matter. If there is an issue with it that you would like to express to the person though it is best to try to resolve it face to face, they may have a negative response to it though.

Did you do it?
What, ghost someone? No.
So what do you think of people that do ghost?

That people just throw anything away once their bored or run away cause they don't know how communicate with others.
I ghosted someone in HS, so it’s not a new thing. Maybe since telephones were common in homes (mid-1950’a)?

They're afraid of dealing with an individual and ending it with real closure instead of just disappearing.
We haven't kept up and introduced "social etiquette" for modern devices.
It says that we live in a society that lacks confrontation skills (in a positive manner) and where a lot of people are either
a) avoidant
b) petty
Or lack respect for other people.
@jdrrichmond sadly..

That people would rather lame out instead of being adults
It says that men being approachers and women being approachees doesn't work well. Society need to change it so it's more 50/50.
I bet men won't ghost if women are approaching them and women won't feel as ghosted if they are they approachers.
Same reason ANTIFA thugs hide their faces. Cowardice.
We can ignore our problems. We luve in a throwaway culture
Fuck your feelings, I've got things to do in a fast-paced world.
So this is how you treat people in general. I see. You could be a great politician.
That's not how I roll but I suppose people who ghost often think this way.
That its all going to hell in a handbasket along with decadence and self gratification.
I dunno. i ghost people, so... yeah.

Whats funny nobody has the manners anymore to break it off. I mean how do you get that far in life and not know thats not ok? Communication is key.
Hahaha yeah precisely what I was questioning.
I mean hard to communicate when women get out of bed hellbent on not communicating.
Run from the answer. Coward.
Says people are pussies, they get offended over any and every little thing and can't just tell someone how they really feel, they're cowardly.
It just shows that people are cowards and can't face their emotions and reality...
