However, I heart that it is entirely possible women lie about their height, for whatever reason.

They don't have a reason to, because every height on a girl has it advantages and disadvantages.
Short woman are generally more desirable by most men because men are naturally dominant creatures, and short women seem more feminine and vulnerable. But on the other hand - it's more probable that you're fat or you will get fat if you're short.
Tall women have it reversed - they seem too dominant and too masculine to men, but it's more probable that you're slim and it's easier for you to maintain it when you're tall

I've found weight gain is really more related to types of food eaten affecting whether someone wants to eat more: we can eat more pizza when not even hungry, but you can't eat 20 apples in a row (20 apples = 3 costco pizza slices).

Fruits are fructose, they are simple carbohydrates. They give you a short, high energy boost, while complex carbohydrates provide energy throughout their consumption.
Eating only fruits is like driving on the highway by pumping the gas pedal up and down instead of keeping a consistent speed. Obviously that's not good for the car.

And not getting fat is not your only concern in like. I tried a paleo diet before, and guess what - as a university student, I felt that I NEEDED those complex carbohydrates, because I always found myself in a lack of energy, my attention faltered and wandered towards food, and my performance suffered.

Yeah I know this is the common message said in pop culture, but I believe when this logic was composed it was meant to be compared to refined simple sugars--sucrose or table sugar--which is completely different obviously. For example, wheat bread would be compared by nutritionists to white--not apples. So you've taken this phrase out of context.

I can say from experience that that is wrong. I've eaten maybe ~50-70%+ of my calories as raw vegan for like 3-4 years now and I never have energy swings. Most fruit is full of fiber of course which slows digestion. Not only that, fruit has natural phytonutrients that that lowers insulin resistance. You can drink a soda full of that table sugar you warned about and having a bowel of berries will 100% negate it's effect towards diabetes. Polysaccharides like grains won't do that.

You can think whatever you want, but his is your argument. These complex carbohydrates like grains humans first started eating 10,000 years ago but almost never in primate evolution before that are our healthiest foods, instead of fruits and vegetable like us as primates and our other primate ancestors have mostly exclusively eaten for millions of years.

Deaths positively lowered the more fruits and vegetables were eaten, but there was not data on over 10 servings eaten a day which could have further lowered deaths.

An estimated 5.6 and 7.8 million premature deaths worldwide in [just in one year] 2013 may be attributable to a fruit and vegetable intake below 500 and 800 g/day, respectively

So 7.8 million lives a year would be saved if people ate 10 servings a day. Times that by an average person’s lifetime of 80 years and 624 million deaths could be prevented by eating 10 servings a day.

When you change from one type of food to another, you create a new gut biome which can affect how well you digest food. You need time to build the new bacteria. I recently had maybe a pound of beef two weeks ago. I eat meet, but usually small portions. The meet I cooked was so good that I just kept eating it (about a pound) and felt sick for two days after eating it. My body just wasn't used to that. I've had no issues with eating that much meet when I consistently ate that way.

You won't have no consistency with fecal matter if eating lots of produce. Fruits and vegetable are the most nutrient dense foods that exist. Nothing has more fiber per amount of calories which means you'll be taking more turds than ever. That's isn't disputable.

Fruit, for example, is much easier to digest than a bird seed like wheat, but the caveat is that you have to eat a lot more fruit or vegetables to have the same volume as the grain. So the EASIER digestion (due to not needing the enzyme amylaze to create glucose) has more volume of food in the stomach for LONG digestion periods while feeling FULLER in that period due to the bigger volume pressing against stomach walls. Everyone knows bread, pasta and rice can make people fat which is where the sugar is bad wives tale comes from. Apples or kale do not make anyone fat.

I'm not even talking about paleo bro. I don't buy the "we need potatoes and bread for a balanced diet" logic though. We didn't need it for millions of years yet because the gov says it now, i must be true right? We are at an infancy stage of understanding nutrition.

Either way I look at it, vegetables are less rich in any kind of nutrient than any other food group. There are some exceptions, but they are few and far between. Generally speaking, no vegetable passes the 100 kcal/100 g limit that raw meat set as standard, or the 250kcal/100 g limit that bread set. Again, closest thing I can think of is potato.

I meant nutrient density per calorie. There's government sources among others sourcing it. I don't remember where it's at though. Number one is watercress and I think bok choy, then things like spinach, chard, blah blah and then fruit isn't far off. The idea is that much of typical diets are nutrient deficient while being high calorie and is likely why 7.8 million + people are dying a year due to it. Our bodes can't make these nutrients (like carnivores often can). We are adapted to get them from plants. That's just a fact. That's why they fight disease.

Fiber is a critical nutrient. Of course we don't digest it, but it supports our gut biome which is critical. It is our immune system basically, and makes 90% of the serotonin in your body. You've heard of the benefits of probiotics. People only take them because they don't feed their gut enough fiber. Fiber is their food. So we basically pour new bacteria in our bodies because we don't feed them. Plus fiber lowers cholesterol, slows digestion of sugar or any saccharide as well as it clears out rotting things in the intestines which prevents colon cancer and lets you poo.

It's ironic you bring up grass. Of course we don't eat it. We recently started eating grass seed though which is what grains are. In nature only hoofed animals and birds eat it though.

People usually eat more of it because it doesn’t satiate our appetite whether it’s due to the lower nutrient density per calorie or due to it’s lack of physical volume in our stomach telling us that we are full. Stand up, and measure your height. Stand next to a doorway, take a pencil and a hard cover book in your hands, put the book on your head, draw the top outline of the book, draw a second line below the first one at a distance equal to the book's thickness, and then measure the height you see with a measuring tape.

I am saying this because I have actually read a study (and I can't find it for the life of me) that stated that surprisingly, both men AND women exaggerate their height by 2 inches. I have had two girlfriends so far, both of them overestimated their heigths by about 2 inches. And I suspect this might be a cognitive bias, where we think we are actually taller than we are.

Not accusing you of anything, I am genuinely curious, and I would be thankful if you could do this.

I don't lie about my height because it should be super obvious to most that meet me that I am tall. There would be no reason I could really lie, because no one would believe me saying I'm shorter than I am, and for a woman there is no social advantage to saying I'm even taller than I am. I've never tried online dating, so I've never had a guy lie about their height to me because I'd met or at least known of them before we started dating, so it hasn't been an issue, but if it did happen, if a guy started out with obvious lies like a lie about their height, it doesn't speak volumes about their character or whatever lies they may tell in the future.

I don't know why women lie, I have an idea though.
Men lie because women day they don't like men who are shorter than X, but if the guy is shorter than X, but taller than the girl, the girl is less likely to notice the difference. So they add a bit to their height.
As for women, i have two theories.
1) Women don't measure, just estimate their heights, because it doesn't concern them. Naturally this leads to overestimations.
2) Women exaggerate their height to avoid relatively shorter men on dating sites, and thus be able to pick from the taller men.
