Am I overthinking it or is he acting different?

So i met this guy and we started hanging about basically almost every day and texting here and there. I stayed over his house one day and we cuddled. Now i was sure if he liked me or not and i didn’t want to assume due to certain conversations we had. I told him i liked him and he basically said he didn’t want to ruin the friendship we had especially if something was suppose to happen and we wouldn’t be friends anymore or it become awkward. He did tell me that he liked me too but he didn’t say anything because he wasn’t sure i liked him or not. But after telling him that i liked him i feel like he’s acting distant but i don’t understand why if he already had a feeling i liked him and he still continued hanging out with me a lot. I don’t know if i made it confusing, but when he said he wanted to remain friends i told him it was cool so I don't know why he’s acting different. I think I’m still acting the same
