Well, I guess it's how she conducts herself. If she seems genuine, kind, funny, cute. As other guys have said, if a girl is "too sexy" your mind will go straight to sex, where relationship wasn't even considered. A relationship can still happen, but it's not really what you're thinking about early on. It's the other stuff that makes you want them to be your girlfriend. How comfortable you are with them and how much you enjoy being around them, even when sex isn't on your mind.
A signed affidavit by the President of Earth, stating *explicitly* that I have the right to date his daughter without legal or economic sanction, irregardless of the outcome of said interactions or lack thereof.

Number one characteristic: easy to communicate with.
She speaks in straightforward terms. "Says what she means and means what she says."
Number 2: physical attraction.
While it is not the most important factor, there is a minimum threshold of attractiveness for a woman to be a candidate to be a partner. This threshold -as well as what constitutes attractive- is different for everyone.
Number 3: sense of humor
If you are a stick in the mud, don't bother applying.
Nowadays, nothing. Might as well ask "what makes a horse a magical unicorn?" It's all well and good saying that "it has a single horn in the middle of its forehead, and it's magical"; but when it doesn't exist, and it only exists in the realms of fiction, then what does it matter? It doesn't.
She is a nice person but stern when she needs to be. Not a pushover but not an asshole. She is supportive of me and I am of her. We share the same or similar morals. We enjoy each other's presence. She is my best friend but understands I have other friends and accepts them for who they are without judgement as I am expected to do for her and her friends. Basically if I see a small glimmer of marriage potential and want to know her better to see if that pans out.
Forgot to add that she gets along with my mother and grandmother.
So you want a friend? Friends don't fuck each other, I have many friends, if I wanted a companion I would get a dog. I want a beautiful hot lady on my arm and a whore in bed.
It changes as each year passes, I think I reached a peak at 24 where pretty much "girlfriend material" involved them passing an exam and getting through a highly intensive interview to qualify for the job... now I feel I'm only 10 years away from an active pulse being the definition of girlfriend material lol
Very complex.. but for me the fact that she support me.. love me.. and take care of me is enough... Her character should be good... Perfection doesn't exist.. besides that you should look into yourself too.. if you're good enough for her.. you can't expect someone to love you unconditionally and do everything for you and you do nothing for her or him...
Compatible in terms of personality and interests, doesn't have substance abuse or financial problems, no serious emotional issues, is fun to be around, great personality and treats others well. Has time for me.
Girlfriend material... Someone you can hang out with doing things you both enjoy. Sex or no sex... you enjoy being together because you have a lot of things to share with each other.
Not slutty or ever been/hints at it or anything. I don’t want someone with that used up rep. To painful to think about and people will always be trying to get with them because they know they are easy.
