Do you have any tips for breaking the touch barrier on my second "date"?

We are going to the ice rink this week, and probably grabbing a bite afterwards at the rink , and I am hoping to break the touch barrier, to gauge if she breaks it as well, and hopefully go from there. She is an inexperienced ice skater, and I'm even worse if I am honest. What would you advise me to do, stumble around, so she will help me, or try to learn it, and hopefully skate together around the rink? Or are both of those ideas far off what I should do? Also if you have general tips for ice skating, go ahead and tell me, I'd appreciate it

The reason I put date in the title between the accents, is because we both aren't calling it a date, although I do hope it will become one in the future. Thanks for taking the time to read my question, and have a good time. :)

Little update for those who checked back. Had a fantastic afternoon, she learned me to ice skate, held both hands while trying to learn me how to skate backwards, and talked a lot about mutual interests. Think she is a keeper,

I think there’s nothing wrong with friendly touches to judge her reaction before actually directly communicating your interest to her. If you feel confident to say you’re interested, then definitely just go for it. But I get that it’s not always easy.

You can go for simple stuff like offering her a hand to help her stand up once she’s put her skates on and a hand onto the ice. Don’t go groping her intentionally or anything when you’re on the ice, but holding hands is totally okay to judge interest in my opinion. Try helping her get her boots off or on, there’s some not-too-scandalous calf touching there.

Based on how she reacts you can back off a bit, or if she reacts well, now would be the time to mention to her that you’d be interested in seeing if you two could be anything more.

Be careful that this outing doesn’t seem like a well planned scheme to touch and ask her out once you get to the end of it. I know it’s kinda your intention, but that’s different to manipulating a situation for the sole purpose of wanting to get with them. It should be important that you still value the friendship regardless and that’s clear.

At the end of the day, the sooner you address your romantic interest with her, the better. Good luck! 😊

Yeah, the skating and previous meet up is to get to know each other better, and I want to gauge if she sees me the same way a bit, before I say something that ruins the starting friendship. Giving a hand getting her skates on, and help her stand up is innocent enough, and good for checking how she feels before initiating more

If you never said its a date, she will assume it is just an outing. ALWAYS clarify its a date. That's #1. #2, ALWAYS verbally communicate your concerns with her prior. In fact, you can talk to her about it right now before you go to the ice skating rink. Don't play those games to get somebody to like you. Just let her know before you get people the wrong idea or impression. She would greatly appreciate that you have an interest in getting to know her more on a romantic level. It should be a fun time, but never assume she shares the same interest, especially in case she doesn't know its a date and the last one was too.

When getting ready to skate, both off the ice, and on the ice, there are numerous opportunities in which to touch her. You can hold her shoulder, touch her upper arm, skate holding hands, use your hands/arms to steady her, etc.

Why would you choose an activity in which you self describe yourself as worse than inexperienced? And being less than inexperienced, do you have the skills to NOT stumble around? As for hoping to turn it into a date, have that discussion during the "bite" afterwards. You can't really think to break the touch barrier until you know the status of the "date"

Well, at least when each of you fall down, you can help each other up: THAT should involve some holding and hugging onto each other. Other than that, be honest with her and explain that she's piqued your interest and you want to get to know her better. Good luck.

I guess you have already broken that touch barrier since it was fairly certain when skating that you might have to hold hands, etc. Take your time, go easy, and see what develops as far as a friendship.

Take a cotton ball. Early in the night tear off a tiny piece and pretend she has something stuck to her clothes or hair then pinch a spot she can't see and show her the cotton. Tell her you saved her life and she owes you a hug. It really is the least she can do. and if not she will owe you by the fourth or fifth piece😉 if it sounds stupid tell me after the date that you tried it and it didn't work.

You could take her hand while skating. If her hair falls in front of her face while you're talking, you could gently push it aside. You could hug her when you meet. Or when you leave.

Well, I would not be interested in a guy who cares about this stuff anyway. Meetoo is just overhyped BS.
If I go on a second or even third date with a man he should get the hint that I am at least not turned off completely. So if you go for a touch or a kiss and I block off I would of course expect you to stop and take a no as it is. But if I am interested I wouldn't do that when the moods right.
It could also be that I am interested but the situation is just not right or it's way too soon to go fully in on it (first meet).
So yeah If the girl blocks off you just stop and go on. Not every girl is a feminist harpie now just cause of BS hollywood people and politics.
