“The moment I meet an attractive woman I have to start pretending that I have no desire to make love to her.” Ladies, is this hot or objectionable? (Page 2)
If you really liked her, why would want to talk to her just like anyone else? I'd rather let her be aware I'm into her, which you couldn't stop me from doing anyway. I'd rather take the chance at getting something more than being put into another attractive chick's friendzone. She doesn't need that, and I certainly don't need that.
AB, you can do that. A lot of people do. But it won't be clear why you are talking to her. And like LThunder says, if the goal is something else, why confuse the intent? I am friendly/warm to some guys, but there is probably no way for them to know if I'm doing that because I do that to all people, or because I like them more. But I am married, so it's all moot. There is no ulterior purpose to it. But imagine being a guy, wondering wth a single woman is thinking when she behaves the way you describe. It may show respect for the woman. It may lessen the risk output on the guy's behalf (or the woman's.) But it's certainly not clear. There are pros and cons to each method - direct, indirect.
Yes he is. He's my favourite classic actor. He and Jimmy Stewart. I've seen so many of their movies. I love Cary's wry grin. I would have loved to banter with him.
I like Jimmy Stewart as well. My fiancé shakes her head when I watch something old like The African Queen or Charade but I think that they hold up as good movies, even today
Absolutely. There’s not that many movies being made for me lately, what with all the superhero reboots etc the last decade, so the older I get the more into history I go. I find it so interesting. Also watching the context of how they lived, and comparing it to today, it’s very... informative. (Although I take it with a grain of salt, that it’s a cinematic version of life.) Good storytelling is good storytelling, right! I haven’t seen Charade in years. I’ll have to watch that again. I also like Audrey.
We recently added Starz to our streaming channels and I watched more than half of all Hitchcock movies on there. It was back in May so I don't know if they're still on there but it was really good for the price.
Oh that's cool. Yeah, I switched TV cable providers recently, so now I have TCM, Turner Classic Movies, and they are filling the screen (even if quite a few very grainy), so now I alternate my TV background between nature video screensaver channel and TCM. I'm not sure if I'm atypical, but I love both Audrey Hepburn and Katherine Hepburn. Just for different reasons. (I give a slight edge to Katherine. I like her strength and playfulness. But Audrey is elegant and adorable.) One of my favourite movies is the original Philadelphia Story (1940.) It has Hepburn, Cary, and Stewart all together. You don't know until the very end who Hepburn will end up with. She has 3 men to choose from. I like the verbal friendly sparring amongst them all.
I like them both as well but I give the nod to Audrey. I think that I started watching Philadelphia Story but never finished it. I'm sure I will eventually. I haven't really watched much on tv this summer but as the weather changes I'll be watching more.
Hahahah. Yesss. This is practically a playbook to seduction. I couldn't resist either of them (and I'm straight!) I want more dialogue, more witty repartee like this. Ooh baby.

I voted I'm a girl show me the polls
This is the old school hookup LOL
I just talk to an attractive woman like she's anyone else, a human being. If that puts me in "the friend zone", so be it.

good point @AmandaYVR
My all time favorite movie. Alfred Hitchcock’s North by Northwest. There’s a hilarious mistake that wasn’t caught in that movie
Ah, you're speaking of Mt. Rushmore, aren't ya?
It’s the scene in the restaurant at MT Rushmore. A kid covers his ears before the shots are fired
Another trivia the final scene of the train going into the tunnel was according to Hitchcock himself was meant to be phallic
Yes I know. I mentioned it to Grond21. The tunnel scene made me laugh. Great way to end it!
Depends on who maybe kinda like but if it’s tasteful.
If I say hello to a woman, she finds it offensive. I really can't say anything without getting into trouble.
Cary grant some steamy hot
Yessssss. Ooh baby.
I don't think it's either
Cary Grant is a great actor
Yes he is. He's my favourite classic actor. He and Jimmy Stewart. I've seen so many of their movies.
I love Cary's wry grin. I would have loved to banter with him.

Neither hot nor objectionable - just a pickup line
It's a truth I find objectionable
