Tell me about it, this is so common with women as well and it's always the same excuse, "it's wrong and the site won't let me change it". Why was it not right to begin with? LOL I can think of one reason why some guys might though, women are often very serious about the age range they want, to the point if their limit is say 39, they absolutely won't even consider a 40 year old (only 1 year difference) and disregard him on that alone and for no other reason. Not get to know him even at all. That's my only thought as to why. Unless it's for whatever reason women do it as well? lol Maybe they are just that careless and don't pay attention when they are creating their profile?
u I have done online dating for extended periods of time over the past 13 years and I have only had one woman lie about her age. Maybe it is simply more prevalent in the population of guys who you are trying to attract.
I don't know but its kinda weird. Such a dumb thing to lie about and not a great way to start out a relationship

Well presumably it is because they believed it would increase their chances of success, if only in the short term and if you would have rejected them on the basis of their real ages right out of the gate then they are correct, though immoral in thinking what they did / do.
Because a lot of girls will reject a guy due to age even if they're otherwise attracted to him.
I was at a bar near my old U a year or two ago (pre-covid, so must be 2) and got talking with a cute girl who had graduated the previous June. At some point she asked what year I had graduated, and when I told her she wished me a pleasant evening and wandered off.
I've experienced the same thing with girls, but on the other end of the age spectrum. I've had a lot of girls tell me they were older than they really were, and some were under 18, which can be a little scary. I've learned to not trust girls who look and act young for fear of getting myself in legal trouble.

Because girls mostly don't date the guys of their age or younger guys. So they lie about there age to maximize the chances.
Cause they don’t want to be judged by how old they look. I lied 2 times. I was 25 and a girl asked me by age I told her and she said your to old for me and she was 3 years younger
