so when this guy met me, he was lost, confused and insecure. If at first I was not understanding why he was interested in me but at the same time mentioning another, later i understood that he was not over his ex yet. so the thing is his ex is an open relationship type of girl. She broke up with him because he is possessive and monogamous man. They chose to stay friends. When he met me the ex had a boyfriend. I took care of him and was helping him move on. Months later when the ex broke up she started giving him attention and he readily went. Recently his parents found out about me and they approve our 'relationship' because our families know each other but he isn't ready to leave his ex who lives miles away in another country and sleeps with all tsorts of men. She does not even value him, she doesn't even have a single picture of him on her IG (all other men). They are no longer together since 4 years. What can I about all this?

Note: all his friends and families know about me. He never mention his ex since they are no longer together but he is secretly trying to get her back.

Tbh I’m surprised you’d even want a man who’s so possessive it caused his ex to leave him. Anyway, you can’t twist that man’s arm into submission and honestly you shouldn’t want to. Maybe it’s confusing as to why he’d want someone like her but we can’t help who we love, and for him his feelings for her are clearly unconditional. So rather than direct negativity towards her (bashing the lifestyle she lives), direct that energy towards the person who is actually betraying you and treating you like an option. Because she’s not going to stop because of you. I know, girl code and all that, but that woman has no loyalties to you and is all about herself. All this today, maybe you should give him an ultimatum. If he won’t cut her off and end that “friendship”, then you’re leaving. If he doesn’t pick you then you will know where his heart is at and you’ll have to just accept it, no matter how it hurts.
