You have to actually mean it and know the person well before you start calling her deep things like that. You've been able to look past the way she looks physically and see her true beauty inside. Calling her beautiful too soon just shows desperation and a cowardly character for me. If you've met her once then please don't say it. Just replace the word 'beautiful' with something like 'girl' or just nothing at all. The word beautiful when coming from a guy often makes the girl feel really special, so using it improperly is just like manipulating her. Otherwise it's a huge turn off for me.

I don't have a particularly strong opinion about it. I think the person is friendly and upbeat. And also that they are probably complimentary, and maybe flirty, with a lot of people. Some people will be fine with that, or like that, and some will be more skeptical and think that this guy's not very serious or discerning (but maybe that doesn't matter either.)
If I find a girl attractive, I think it's a nice and simple opening. I'm not going to put in effort in my messages like I used to when I was younger for no response or a 1 word response.
If they're interested and of the same opinion, understanding the struggle that guys go through on dating sites, they'll message. Definitely not cringey.

depends who’s complementing. If it’s someone I know, go for it. If it’s a stranger saying “hey beautiful” I’d rather they say “hey sorry to bother you ….” Then continue with whatever they’re going to say.
Depends. If you already complimented the person’s appearance before and she was happy about the compliment, it’s probably nice. If she did not respond well, it’s cringey. Safest thing to do is test the waters first.
I think it comes across as trying too hard. The only times I can really think of "Hey beautiful" working would be in an ironic sense, kind of like overselling it when she'd already been established in your life.
Why do guys always use that? Say something else. Like something unique.
