Do guys like when girls make the first move?

I've been thinking about asking this one guy out cause I heard from my friends that he's kinda shy when it comes to asking girls out, but will open up if she makes the first move, and I'm really nervous. So I just wanna hear anyone's opinion on the topic...

... mainly to give myself some confidence for tomorrow lol because I'll be seeing him in person and I wanna ask him that way instead of through a text.

Wellp... literally everything was going great while we were together and talking. I was alone with him twice and kind of chickened out, so I ended up asking him over a text and he left me on read. But that's okay, I guess. We just weren't meant to be.

Okay, another update. He finally answered and suggested we go out next week. I really don't get what his deal is. I spoke to people who know him and everyone said that it's very unlike him to leave people on read so I'm guessing that he probably just saw the text and forgot to respond. I don't know what to think anymore. People are confusing.

For the sake of the storyline, here's the final update haha. We went out and it was a lot of fun. I was actually worried he forgot we had to meet, but I came 5 min earlier and he was already waiting, so that's cool. There wasn't a single moment when we weren't talking or laughing, and we really have a lot of things in common. I just don't know if this is gonna go anywhere cause he didn't text me and it's been a few days, and I don't wanna pester him. But I'm glad I at least tried.

Moral of the story: If you like someone, ask them out. You literally have nothing to lose. And if anything, you will know that you tried and didn't just passively sit by the side and wonder what could've happened.

Year ago I moved out to Calf. for a while, and there was a club not very far from where I was living, and I would go in to listen to the music, and I would sit at the bar, just enjoying the music, looking happy, smiling and I could not believe the number of women that came up and asked me to dance.
I am from the midwest, and that would rarely ever happen.
So the more that I was out dancing the more often I would get asked to dance.
It was great, I felt that someone was actually interested in me.
I asked a few of the women why they asked me to dance, told them I had never had that happen to me before, and they said it was because I looked like I was enjoying myself and was having a good time.
I wasn't acting like a typical Calf. guy, all prim and proper, having just the right clothes on, posing just so, I was just there to enjoy the music.
Asking in person to me is the best, it shows you care, are sincere.
It is easy to just text someone, but to do so in person is a much better way to do that, but I am older and back in the day we didn't have cell phones, so maybe that is the way it is done today.

The question is if you really gonna learn or not.

An hint is that many males take female's more seriously if she is the one.
Even a higher chance of that he get more attached.
Then do you have the thing that some only can get feelings if she does that.

Just don't give up easily. it can be thing's many female's interpret as a rejection that isn't.
If you are uncertain just ask if he is interested. and that you are in him. start with that you are otherwise do it have a tendency to get a fake reply of not interested.
Just e patient.
Some have delayed emotional response and change their mind later on.

Play it safe, and play it smart. You've seen guys on here say that they love it when girls make the first move, but sadly, in real world, that is NOT the truth. Some guys may like it, while others won't. Your guy would get disinterested quickly if you keep pursuing him. Let him pursue you, just show some interest and give hints. Guys LOVE the chase, but don't play games, because as the saying goes:
"play stupid games, win stupid prizes"

Give some hints, IF he does not pick up on it, then maybe bring it up *casually* and say: "hey, would you maybe wanna go out with me some time?" That's it. If he is shy, then yeah, maybe ask him out. You ain't got anything to lose.

I always see that guys like it, but it’s NEVER worked out for me. Everytime I make the first move the guy will be flattered and interested at first and then get disinterested really quickly. But if the guy makes the first move then he doesn’t lose interest unless we weren’t compatiable.


I feel like they really do like to be the one pursuing tbh. Maybe it has to do with their manhood or ego. Just as it makes us women feel more feminine to be approached rather then doing the approaching.


But you should still give it a shot. You have nothing to lose (that you don’t already have 😉).

I am a guy and I have two adorable 🙂 bunnies one is black 🖤 one is white 🤍 both Holland loops lol the white one jumps at me whenever I walk by her cage like pet me she turns to butter and melts when I do and sits her head on her neck fur like she's a pearl on a pillow lol with her ears down the sides. The black one is different she's younger moody and when I try moving things around she will nip at me like this is my house lol. Every time I go near her cage she will sometimes comes near she won't lick my finger or let me pet her like my white 🐰 she taps me with her nose and turn away like chase me and open the cage also when she licks my finger she starts nipping she's all around more aggressive. Ugh okay so he hasn't answered take a close look at the person you are dealing with and the people even on here ok if someone is selfish its hard for them to do something nice if they are not then they care about others also. if someone is insecure they could be jealous easily you watch out for these type of people especially if you are blessed with the genetic lottery. Don't forget what you are on here for "support" don't be afraid to get what you need and your needs outside this. You also must realize he knows by now you like him you should not be so worried about how hard you try ok as long as you are trying yah know. You know what you are one smart girl I wish more girls would listen to what you just said read what you just said because that is the most important part right there did you learn from this. Guys won't (usually) admit it, but sometimes they can be totally clueless about starting (any sort of) a relationship, even going out for a hot dog. So, if you like the guy, or just want to meet him to find out if you DO like him, do yourself and him both a favor: talk to him, ask him for a "date", and relieve all that tension of "not knowing".

That's fine. If you think that's a 'move' you're good. He'll either respond in kind or he won't. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. But these types of communications with someone new should not be by texting. There's no emotion, zero body language, so you miss out on at least half of what's being communicated. Which leads to confusion and misunderstanding, and then silly questions like this. TALK to the guy - FACE TO FACE IRL. That is how you connect.

Yea, I understand that. I spent few days with him, like an entire day, because we were working on a project, and we spoke a lot. I thought that we clicked (not necessarily in a romantic way, but in a friendly definitely) and I thought he was cool, which is why I asked him out in the first place to see how we function, I guess. Showing interest and initiative is never a bad thing. But back to the 'if you think you're going to be the man in the relationship' thing, you'll be sorely disappointed. One of the strengths women look for in a man is his ability to lead, make decisions, have confidence and style, and some bucks to spend. They like it when he goes after what he wants. If they fail at this, she instantly loses respect. If this goes on long enough, she'll take over, but they absolutely loathe it. And then the entire relationship is at risk. Sooner or later she just gets way bored and leaves, or throws him out. In the mean time, she shuts down sexually, cheats bails or any combination of these. And why the burden of performance is ALWAYS on the man.
If your guy is too weak to be a real man you'll tear your hair completely out. I guarantee it.

Usually shy guys like me likes it cuz we're not exactly sure how to approach you without making a fool out of ourselves, but if a girl makes the first move it gives us kind of a boost and then we would be ourselves...
