No. It's imperialism right now. Doing it and not caring is a red flag the size of Brazil. Further, there is a lot of rape and sexual terror and intimidation in the US mil. It signals to me that she either is clueless or is the kind of chick who likes to be beat up, spit on and treated bad. Go figure

I think it would no different than dating a cop or firewoman. I dated an undercover once. It was a disaster. She was crazy; even suicidal.

I have the GREATEST RESPECT for the women who serve, but my BEST advice would be to REALLY get to know who she is, because you might not like what you find out.

1. her time is probably very structured and she has little opportunity to meet.
2. being active duty military, she likely has men throwing themselves at her if she looks even remotely good.

How did you know!! But no, uh just wanted to see what as many people thought about this situation as possible!!

1. Yeah that's definitely true, I am aware that even if everything went as planned there will still be many issues to a normal "relationship" because I'm sure it's definitley not easy in the military to have a "social life" apart from the military
2. Yeah. . sometimes you just have to cut your loses before you go after what you want!!! So I'm confident in myself, and honestly I would rather just trust for now or more like not assume out of insecurity. I am aware there are probably tons of guys (good looking or bad) that like her too, but then again, not all girls are like that

I don't have experience in the military and don't know about what actuallygoes on dating wise? Like the culture or statistics, but just purely from a neutral standpoint. I would rather just believe in myself and not worry about what I can't control, and just see how things go! Work on what I can control

@Avicenna Exactly, that. The only advantage this civilian guy may have is if he can structure himself to be available whenever she can be on short notice. The only drawback the military guys have is that they have their lives regimented and structured too, so their free times many not mesh.

What he has to compete with is guys in her unit who are with her all the time, including deployments and training exercises.

I had a girlfriend who was also in the military when I served. We broke up because she got stationed elsewhere. It's tough to maintain these sorts of relationships, so it's best avoided.
