Should I believe my boyfriend or my friend?

I’ve been with my boyfriend for 6 months and previously we just went to a tanning salon where I managed one of the stores. I took him there because my really good friend manages that store and knew she would help him. When me and him went in together her employees didn’t really speak and word and were mute but said he was cute. He went in later for lotion and said that they were flocking with him and were talking down on me about my skin. And working in an industry about skin color really hurt my feelings because I use to be white because I am a red head but have genes where I can tan very easily. They proceeded to say I can’t tan because I’m a ginger and how I’m a skin type 1 which I’m not. He told me they kept saying how pasty I am but when I asked my friend she said the complete opposite of what he was telling me. She swore on the Bible and ever on her kids. I told him this and he said people who lie do that all the time to be more manipulating. I’m not sure who to believe about this conflict because he said that he would never lie to me and swore on everything he loves. Please help

Ask yourself what your boyfriend has to gain from lying to you.
If you can't find any good reason that is consistent with his typical behaviour, then believe him.

What would be the gain for your boyfriend if he were to lie other than less trust?

Normally, I always side with the person I am with than with 'friends', but that's probably because I don't consider anyone really a 'friend'. They're all disposable in my opinion except for 1. Also, the person I'm with is in a relationship that depends on trust. If I'm with someone it's because I trust her, else I wouldn't be with her.

Can't you talk to them when they're both in the same room? I think that's the only way to really know the truth - Is your gut feeling telling you something?

Honestly I he is because she is always very straight and is a very blunt person with you. She wasn’t around the girls when he first arrived there so I’m not sure on that story but when she came up front I feel like she is being honest with me.

well tbh it sort of seems pointless for the boyfriend to lie he gains nothing if you get rid of a female friend. Unless he is some sort of psychopath who derives enjoyment from watching friends fight but in 6 months of dating you should have been able to figure his nature out so yeah it seems pointless to me to say he lied suddenly for no reason he gains nothing.

to be fair, they may have just be telling you that, to get money out of him. businesses will do anything to get more money out of people. like car mecahnics for example
