How should a guy walk up to, approach, and ask a girl out if she's taller than him and physically intimidating?

A friend online asked me this question, since most of my past girlfriends were taller than average. I didn't know what to tell him. This friend is even shorter than me (maybe 5'8"), so I don't know. So maybe you can help him out!

Treat the height difference as if it doesn't matter. I knew a guy in college who was there on a scholarship. Dude absolutely slayed, and he was like 5'6". He wasn't physically intimidated by anyone, guy or girl (and a lot of drunk guys thought it would be a good idea to try winning a fight against a boxer).
