How can you tell if there’s sexual tension between two people?

How can you tell if there’s sexual tension between you and the person you like or just between two people?

I help out sometimes at the place the girl that I’ve liked forever works at. A lot of times she’ll pop out her chest 4-5 times in front of me, flip, curl, poof up her hair constantly, laughs 95% of the time, rubs thighs, and all other kinds of stuff.

One time she was sitting across from me and she kept taking her phone out and away and out again. Her phone was in her waist band. And I swear to God each time she took her phone out, she moved her shift higher and higher every time to where it was a few inches over her belly button. Seemed unnecessary. Then another time she was sitting across from her manager when I had to leave. She turned her whole body facing me and she had her legs wiiiiiiiide open. And I’m pretty sure girls don’t just randomly subconsciously do that sort of thing in front of guys. So I’m pretty sure that was a message,

Other times if we’re standing near, she stands extremely close or if showing me something she gets close to my face when she could just point. But for the last few months we keep getting interrupted or the owner gets on our way of talking to one another. And I feel like there’s a feeling between both of us of getting annoyed at getting interrupted. Each time I’m about to ask her out or ask her to try and throw me off the mechanical shark we get interrupted.

So like I said we have a very natural chemistry, I feel like she’s showing plenty of hints. But how do you tell if there’s sexual tension? Because sometimes I wonder if there is that on both sides with us. Sorry for length.

How long have you known each other, been interacting?

Does she appear to drop what she's doing when you are around, and prioritize talking to you?

It's amusing to me, how you are counting things. You're really prioritizing analyzing her body language, with no mention of dialogue between you. (This is a very typically male POV and way to approach all this.)

Just ask her out.

When we talk she stops/slows down what she’s doing (she’s at work during this) a lot of times if the owner isn’t around we’ll talk for 25-30 minutes, she laughs at probably 95% of the stuff I say. We banter a lot and tease one another a lot. There’s just a natural chemistry between us. We can tease, laugh or talk deep. We’ve known each other since high school but she has a boyfriend during high school and is a loyal kind of girl so it didn’t quite work out in high school. But now a couple years removed and she’s definitely more flirty with me than before.

I don't understand why you're asking the question, and presenting the info as a slam-dunk ("she laughs at probably 95% of the stuff I say" etc etc), yet ask us whether she's into you. You sound extremely confident, not giving doubt. Yet by asking the question, you do doubt.
Either carry on flirting with her, or ask her out.
There is no certainty in life.

Well the main reason I was asking was because I had heard someone say something about sexual tension and I really didn’t know what that meant exactly or if maybe we had any tension through my examples. Mainly I just didn’t know what it meant or if it translated to anything of us.

It's not a very easy thing to define. But I'd say it as...
A feeling of interest and attraction, by both parties, that has not yet been realized. The tension exists because the desire has not yet been met.
But examples are endless. And really too vague to define.
It's like there are awkward pauses, things not said, spines sit up straighter, a lot of attention and focus on each other, almost like there's electricity crackling here and there.

Well there's two types of sexual tension there's one type that is when one person like the other person but the other person knows it but doesn't like that person that way that causes sexual tension

But then there's the good kind of sexual tension when two energies because we are made from water and atoms and atoms broke down and its energy. And when you understand this energy and you can fill it in between each other it's one of the most beautiful feelings in the world both people can feel it and usually both people do something about it

The question is not whether there is sexual tension, but why. She could just be looking for attention, validation and the easing of boredom. You want to ask her out based on all of this... is that all it takes? Observe, watch her movements, how she treats others, who she is, why she is, what is her history? Put aside the sexual attraction and look beyond that. Ask yourself 'why does she deserve my time, attention, energy and loyalty?' it's too easy to be led by our sex drive, rather than our logical vehicle.

I’ve known her since I was 16 and there’s no one else I’d rather be around, joke around with or talk about serious deep stuff with. So believe me there’s both sexual attraction and personal attraction. She’s very friendly but I never see her doing anything of the same body antics towards anyone else besides me. Especially the leg thing.

You can’t really.

sexual tension can be positive and negative, often the negative can be picked up wrong.
someone who is nervous can act as if they are doing things like the above, the thing is they may be freaked out and not wanting the attention but too shy to push back (not saying that’s the case above).

The only way is to ask them, take for a coffee etc and ask them.

there is no such thing as being constantly interrupted, you just make a stand and prioritise the asking.

The main thing being sexual tension can be because they are worried scared as much as it can be them liking it.

I'd say eye contact, if she keeps it will doing it, probably interested in you. That isn't a 100% though, if someone is shy or nervous they will look away.
