Do you think he was being honest as to the reason he wouldn't date me?

Me and a guy named John hooked up for 2 years straight. During that time I told him how much I liked him and wanted to be with him. He responded, "I'm attracted to you, you're beautiful. But I don't want a relationship with anybody.". Well, he eventually met this rich snobby high-status girl and dropped his involvement with me all together. 6-months later he broke up with the new girl. When I asked him the reason why he dated her and would never date me, he responded; "Because you're psychotic. As you've proven today. Don't do that with the next guy and you'll be fine.". Do you think he simply took the opportunity to be a jerk and wasn't revealing the REAL honest answer as to why he never wanted to date me? Or do you think that really was it- that he thought i was too crazy? He can often take opportunities to just be a jerk for the sake of it so I can't tell.

I'm sorry to hear that, the guy is actually a complete jerk because in reality he never intended to commit to you and as you guys did, he just wanted to hook up with you. And probably a gold/status digger unless she's really hot on top of it, if you still have feelings which you probably do please stop giving him excuses for his behavior and never talk to him again because he doesn't care...

Why on earth would he call you psychotic? Simply asking that question doesn't make you crazy. It is a legit question. Unless you exhibited some type of behaviour that would lead him to say that to you, sounds like he is just trying to hurt your feelings.

Tbh, honest or not, sounds like you dodged a bullet.

From your last line, sounds like this is common behaviour from him and might have been a response at catching him at a bad time, but if that's the case, doesn't sound like the basis for a long lasting relationship.

I think he was being honest , he always saw you as slightly crazy , rightly or wrongly , as soon as he had a chance to mix with a higher socio economic sector , he grabbed the chance , looks are one thing but...

Well why would he be in a relationship with u if he hooked up with u? He probably just wanted a hookup. People don't usually date people they sleep with
