I’ve read half of it is psychological. And moderate change always beats cold turkey. One method is throwing away a cig from one pack, two from the next, and so on.

There are a lot of smoking cessation programs available. Nicotine patches are very expensive but tobacco is also an expensive addiction. If he really wants to quit he will find a way.

Get him some counseling to get to the REASON he gets depressed and thinks he NEEDS the nicotine.

He smokes because he has an addiction to nicotine. My state has a nicotine addiction program for smokers. And if he is your age he is breaking the law too.

Well he’s hooked, ciggerstes are made to keep you addicted. You need to get something from the Pharamacy or doctor to help or just quit cold turkey

I stop a 3.5 a day smoking habbit with toothpicks. I transfer my smoking habit to the toothpick habit. Which more easier to quit.
