Do I have a right to be bothered by this?

My boyfriend had friends come in the city this past weekend. The first night, he asked me to come down and meet them for dinner, so I did. During dinner he mentioned that on Saturday, there would be a bar crawl if I wanted to join. I said I would. Saturday morning comes around and I texted him asking when I should come down. He said he didn’t know what was going on, and that they were very hungover from the night before. He said I could come down for lunch and we would see what’s going on after that.
I go there for lunch (a 45 min drive). After lunch he said it’s going to just be the boys this afternoon because they are all too hungover to go to the bar crawl, so they were just going to stay at the house and watch a game. I told him I was annoyed and that I didn’t have to come at all. He said he dropped the ball on this, but never apologized. Am I wrong to be annoyed?
He’s not a huge texter so I tried to communicate that I was annoyed without starting an argument over text. I’m worried I over reacted? I also don’t want to come off as clingy/wanting him to hang out with me instead of his friends.

Sheesh, kiddo, read the fucking room! You come across as the sort of airhead who when told "have a good day!" would start asking them to plan it with you, so that you do.

He was just shooting the shit with you, not asking you to chaperone him.

I just feel like he should've kept you more informed on whatever what happening between his friends. I think most people would be annoyed when they're invited just to told off due to some other reason. I think it's fine as long as he talks about it later.

If he's hungover it is possible that he didn't form the correct words or think to tell you ahead of you traveling over, I would be a little annoyed but in fairness we have all miss communicated at least once when hungover.
