How can I see if it is time to make things official or get shot down? Should I let it happen naturally?

I met her after she volunteered to take care of my cat when i went on vacation 2 months ago. I picked my keys up and she kept the text chain going. The next 2 weekends we hung out at my apartment with nothing special happening. We have started seeing each other every night after she gets off work. We have cuddled, kissed, and she has spent the night the last 2 weekends. The thing is every relationship I've been in was through friends and they kind of pushed us to decide if we are official. Here we are on our own and their isn't that presence so I feel like I'm in a spot where one of us has to ask the question.

it seems you want to date her. Instead of asking if you're official which might get her upset. Ask her to officially be your girlfriend. then, you'll know where you stand.

I’d say talk to her openly and ask what she wants to prevent any confusion in any relationship you have.
