Am I good wife material?

Question

From a guys perspective I’m curious what hey think.

I’m by nature a caring type. I love to look after my men. I put their needs first and foremost. I also am very domestic. I love to clean, cook and keep and orderly house. I also love to adventure, hike, travel etc. I enjoy reading, gaming and embroidery the most.

I love babies too and would love at least 2. Most of all I love big snuggles 🥰 . Is this good wife material in a guys eyes?

I'm surprised that you enjoy all of those things, @StormMistress. I didn't know that you had any interest in such. I sort of feel like you have this liberal/progressive streak, which is not conducive to a healthy marriage.

First, remember that marriage is a holy covenant with our Lord. In an atheistic world, there is no such thing as marriage.

Second, it must be mutual. The woman is to submit to her man. That doesn't mean that the man goes off and has a good time and leaves her at home to slave away! That's misinterpretation of The Bible. It means that the woman submits to the man for him to take responsibility for things and to lift the heavy burdens off of her shoulders. He has a responsibility to be the leader (the kind of leader that's not fun to be). Women have strong maternal instincts. She is not to be laden with what the man is to do; she needs to be able to function freely, to be at her best. But, part of that is to give the man a little bit of space to step up. And then, when needed, she steps in.

How do you deal with disappointment? How do you manage stress? Do you have compatible religious/child rearing/political/financial viewpoints? Are you bringing in a lot of student or personal debt? If you are working can the household survive without your income for five years per child (potentially concurrently if they are close enough together)? Can you assert yourself if absolutely necessary, like at a child’s medical appointments or school meeting? Do you care if your family doesn’t like your husband or your husband’s family doesn’t like you? You mention a lot of things that many men would love, but wife material is a lot more than tv or movies or romance novels make it out to be.

On paper, I think that's excellent but I'm a bit odd. I prefer women who aren't so domestic and so caring.

I prefer to do my share of cooking and cleaning, for example, since I never wanted to grow dependent on a woman to do it for me. I also never wanted a woman to put my needs first; I want them to balance their own desires with mine, as I do for them.

The love of adventure and hiking is awesome. The type of woman I always envisioned was not your classic housewife, but a lifelong partner with a mutual zest for life and adventure.

Actually yes. Going off of stereotypes, republicans are generally more traditional, so I'm guessing those who value traditionalism would be very happy with you.
Also, again going off of stereotypes, the older the guy gets, or the more mature he becomes, he realizes that being with someone like you is the easiest, so they'd value you more than the younger crowd.

In my eyes you are wife material, I'd love to be with someone like you, but to be honest, marriage has some real bad rep, so I'd try to barter for a serious exclusive relationship, where the two of us would be symbolically married.

Sure is that’s the standards that he wants.. wife materials is the traditional shit they kept and keep pounding into your head. Wife material is what a man sees in you that he likes himself and make his life amazing. Some men don’t want a woman that likes babies, or is the nurturing type. Some like a career driven woman with goals and ambitions for greatness and will push him to be the same. If that’s what he wants, that’s wife material for him. What you described is the wife material you want to be.

Certainly for some, if we were comparing personalities I'd probably say we'd clash, as I feel the same about putting my partner first, so I can imagine that might get frustrating, plus I'd be trying to get into the kitchen myself as I love to cook too.

But I have seen many opinions on here that would be looking for that more traditional role so I'm sure there'd be a perfect fit somewhere.
