Being of different race to people in my country I still feel very different to them even though we have the same nationality. I feel they don’t appreciate people from my race.

It can be a big issue for some people. People have different preferences and that's fine. However, there are people who don't date people outside their race even if they are attracted to them because of things like peer pressure, parental approval, etc. That's how race can really be an issue in dating.
