He is still all lovey dovey and what not. But, my paranoid side says he is lulling me into a false sense of security before dumping me.

Well, yes if you told your family all about it, all you do is just serve to poison your family against him. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was bad news, but I equally wouldn’t be surprised if he proposed to you.
