What are some good ways to break the ice on dating apps?

So I've been using dating apps for a very short time, but what im hearing is opening a conversation with "hey how is your day going?" Is not the way to catch a lady's attention in the dating app or even in real life. So so my question to you ladies is what is a good opener I've tried using something from there bio I've tried using something from their photos being more relatable to what they have shown but I still get no responses so I want to know something it doesn't have to be specific because I know every woman is different but what in general can I do to spark a conversation and get a response. When messaging I'm kind of awkward I don't know what ladies want to hear it will be nice to hear from ladies of a good way to again open up messages from there I believe I'll be able to get it going but this isn't something we're taught and I've been in a relationship for the last 12 years. So I don't have a whole lot of experience talking to women. Any woman that I have ever had an entanglement with has always come to me and I think it's time to change things up. So any help is appreciated

everyone says it s bad to say just hi but i prefer just hi so its totally okay by me, hi how r you etc. if she responds then you ask some more questions, what brings you here, what are you looking for etc but most importantly just be nice and kind, some will ghost you some won't even start the conversations - those aren't interested and you move on. You also be kinda choosy and aim for people you like, think you have a shot with and their profile attracts you in a way how they presented themseves and what they said about themselves
