Is Online Dating A Good Place For A Woman To Meet A Man?

I hear so many women complain about online dating.

A. I understand the complaint that there is too many emails and it's overwhelming.

B. I understand the complaint that they have to sort through them all to find a few good men. But at least they get to do that.

If you were a betting person, who would you place a bet on who would find a partner - a woman who goes out once a week with a different man to find the right one - Or a man who receives 0 emails?

Online dating is a bit different from traditional dating and some people dont catch on to that difference, so they dont have great results. Instead of thinking about why they aren't having sucess, they automatically blame online dating. . . because whenever something bad happens, it MUST be someone else's fault.

And many people put down online dating because they have this ridiculous mistaken notion that "online" dating means you NEVER meet in real life! Online dating is just a way to make an initial introduction; if there is mutual interest, you arrange a meeting and you go have a face-to-face. From that point forward, it becomes just like traditional dating.

Online dating is the most common way that couples today meet their future long term partner. Obviously, it works if you approach it in the right way.

I live in the city and I have been on dating apps for a while now. And wow just wow. It is true what the other commenters are saying, most guys on there just want sex and some are nice enough to tell you that straight from the beginning. But there are also others that like to hook you in and when you catch feelings for them; that’s when they tell you they are not ready or looking for a relationship. It’s tough out here! But also the guys I’ve met in person have also been very crappy. I am not sure if it’s because I live in the city and people like to keep their options open 🤷🏻‍♀️

Do you have any hobbies or interests?
Maybe try an online discussion group about whatever hobbies or interests you have.
Or if there is any way to participate in those hobbies to meet people with similar interests.
Or try something like eHarmony.
Or even places that discuss different topics like on here where you can see someone's past opinions to figure out if your morals and life goals are compatible.

Meeting someone at work is only good if one of you plans to transfer or leave hat specific work place because co-workers like to interfere.

It's not a good place for a woman to find a partner because most all of the men are looking for sex. The men will lie and paint a false picture in order to get sex. So even if she filters all the 100's of responses and picks a few, those few just want sex too.

It's obvious women have an advantage in dating apps than men. It's math. Let me make an example here:

Let's presume that 1% of the Tinder user base is actually interested in serious relationships, so no hookups or ghosting. Who's more likely to meet someone who's part of this 1%? The user who effortlessly gets hundreds of likes daily or the one who has gets a handful of likes during weeks? I made a fake female profile who got 99 within two hours, so if the stat in my example was real, a serious profile could get the same in less time. The real me who had 30 likes and 5 matches in 2 months would be doomed to eternal swiping.

One of the main problems for online dating is it is so random and every type of person is online so you have to shift through a lot of people and figure out who you’d be compatible with. In real life you may meet people through hobbies or similar interests which is a benefit.

I've read that a lot of women, who have hobbies and are social, discover that all the men they know are in relationships so they turn to online dating sites.

And just like you wrote, these women have to shift through and filter a lot of people and figure out who she would be compatible with. And then she has to meet him.

I agree with you. A woman needs to develop the skill of filtering out all the men that want to meet her. With that skill, she is able to meet some decent men.

I knew a woman that wanted to get into a relationship and tried Match. com for one year. She had a lot of emails, on an average 10 a day. She was able to filter out the good from the bad. I asked her how many good men did she find out of the 100's and 100's of emails and she said 20. But she was only able to meet 10. She said they were all nice men. I then asked why didn't she choose one of them to be her boyfriend? Because each one had a flaw. One was too short. Another had too much body hair. Another had crooked teeth. Etc. I guess with so many choices and options it's impossible to decide which one.
